Midnight feasts - is that still a thing?

I'm happily out for the count from around 11pm throughout until 6/7 in the morning. It's rare that I wake at odd times. Not even a trip to the loo, like a camel, it's stored until I arise.grin

I hope it stays this way for a long time to come.

Last meal of the day is before 6pm anyway. Maybe the odd Rich Tea in between.

When my eldest GC first stayed with me and didn't always sleep well I mistakenly introduced him to the idea of Midnight Feasts to settle him down when he woke. Trouble was then every time he stayed I had to provide biscuits etc for a Midnight Feast. .He would even ask "What time shall we have our Midnight Feast?" when he went to bed. Now he's a teenager it doesn't matter he goes to bed late and rises late

My daughter said it was a childhood memory for her.

Once she was all snuggled up in bed, she always heard the sound of the grill pan being opened for my toast. smile

Well buttered toast and tea.....I remember reading somewhere, 'never go to bed on an empty stomach' - that's my excuse ?

I dont usually eat after 7pm ,haven't for a couple of years .Last night I had a bowl of cereal at 2am ,Might be the 7 miles I walked with OH yesterday and if so then the extra exercise is a waste of time if I just want to eat more !

I will happily snuggle up to watch Netflix with with a bowl of crisps and nuts enjoyed with a mug of hot chocolate.

Hot chocolate is my go-to remedy if I can't sleep, I have some Spanish stuff which is very thick and luscious. I dropped coffee after about 5pm to improve my sleep.

If I ever need a midnight snack, or a 1am, 2am, 3am, etc
snack, it's always cream cracker biscuits.

Don't think I've ever had a mid-night snack,even when pregnant.

I try not to although before grandson lived here, I would at times have porridge in the wee hours. Daren't get up to get anything now. He's a light sleeper.

Toast, Always toast. Had some with marmalade at 4 .30 a.m.

Just had a bowl of porridge But I would have preferred a whisky. I don’t have biscuits savory or sweet nor cakes at home, as I would pig out on them, the same goes for alcohol.

rosecarmel Sat 23-May-20 02:27:09

Buttered toast, oatmeal and banana, grilled cheese, pizza, frequently leftovers that I aimed to save for dinner or lunch the next day ..

MissAdventure Sat 23-May-20 02:11:14

I’m lying here in bed eating a pack of garibaldi biscuit at 1.40am. What’s your favourite midnight snack and what drink would you pair it with..........(Alcoholic or non alcoholic)
