What are you all having to eat tonight? I cook every evening and have been getting bored with the usual meals. Tonight, I've made a Chicken Jambalaya - it's a Hello Fresh recipe I had ages ago, but I bought all the ingredients and have adapted it a bit.

I've made a carrot cake for afters.... with cream grin

I’m making salmon fish cakes, but not sure yet what recipe to use. I’ll probably make it up as I go along.

Baked camembert, a Mary Berry salmon one pot wonder followed by a weightwatchers recipe for chocolate and banana dessert. Yum.

Pasta puttanesca once the rugby’s sorted (hopefully in our favour ???????) and a bottle of Sangiovese in commiserations with the Italian team who aren’t having a good time!

Chicken Madras, currently fermenting in the slow cooker. With either rice or chips, I made the curry and Mr. B will sort out the accompaniment. We’ve no nan bread in the pantry atm. We had bacon panini for brunch so probably better not to have more bread tonight anyway.

Kim19 Did you make the Speedy Carbanara, how did it turn out and if you enjoyed it, would you share the recipe please. smile

Made it already, a curried root vegetable ‘stewp’. I will add some spinach to it for a couple of mins before serving with lovely warm naan bread.

Salmon (from freezer), mixed veg (from freezer) and mashed potatoes (from freezer - not home made)
Husband is having sausages (from freezer), fried onions, mash and beans.
What would I do without my freezer, eh? grin

I'm going to have a go at a speedy carbonara I saw done on lunchtime to yesterday. Four ingredients and ten minutes. That'll do me!

I do not know as I did not label the plastic container I got from the freezer. I think it might be pasta,

What are Scurtlewumps? My predictive text suggested cufflinks, digressions, or dictatorship ? go figure. Web search total blank.

Seriously, always looking for something new to cook

Scurtlewumps

We had sea bass with asparagus, tender broccoli and a couple of baby corns.

A request from my DD (bubble) Savoury Pancakes stuffed with h/m ratatouille. Bananas & custard. Water & slice.

Aldom Wed 24-Feb-21 22:31:39

Mushroom omelette, sweet corn, spinach, wholegrain rice and quinoa. Sticky Toffee Pudding, Greek yoghurt with honey.

Witzend Wed 27-Jan-21 10:08:55

Plenty of gammon last night, so probably another very veg-heavy thick soup to make up for it, before cold gammon with baked potatoes and salad tomorrow.
I have some leftover mash and parsley sauce to add to a soup - IMO some of the best ever leftovers soup-wise - plus some ham stock in the freezer.
There are a few lonely Brussels sprouts rolling around in the veg drawer, so they’ll go in, too.

Chicken breast stuffed with Roquefort, wrapped in Parma ham and baked in the oven, served with a cream sauce and green beans. It’s DH’s favourite but I don’t put the cheese inside mine as it’s too rich for me - the cheese in the sauce is enough.

Aldom Wed 27-Jan-21 09:44:14

Mushroom omelette, with wholegrain rice and quinoa, mixed peppers and petit pois. Syrup sponge and Greek yoghurt.

nanna8 Wed 27-Jan-21 07:54:32

Tonight we have really pigletted. We had roast chicken, broccoli, carrots, red peppers and potatoes followed by one of those Aldi choc puddings coloured gold, left over from Christmas and cream. Plus a glass of Chardonnay. Feel quite disgusted with myself but, hey, it was nice! You’re only old once .

I'll be having whatever my lovely husband makes me - and be very grateful for it too.
