What are you all having to eat tonight? I cook every evening and have been getting bored with the usual meals. Tonight, I've made a Chicken Jambalaya - it's a Hello Fresh recipe I had ages ago, but I bought all the ingredients and have adapted it a bit.

I've made a carrot cake for afters.... with cream grin

I've just put a braising beef casserole in the oven. I will have some this evening with Charlotte potatoes and a green vegetable. The rest will be portioned and frozen.

This evening it will be steak + stout pie, boiled potatoes, carrots and green beans.
No pud (but I did just eat a slice of tiger bread with thick jam).

I’m going to make a pie with chicken left from a roast, mushrooms and a leek that needs using up.
Need to strip the chicken first and make stock from the carcass - first job this morning.

Probably the reheated Shepherd’s Pie leftovers from Weds, but this is making me want fish and chips from the slightly fancy chippy now...

EllanVannin Fri 15-Jan-21 15:26:16

Usual haddock, chips and peas, bread and butter and a cup of tea. I usually have a chip buttie while I'm at it grin Hot chips on melted buttered bread. Love it.

GagaJo Fri 15-Jan-21 15:23:06

Until the catering staff came back, I WAS cooking. But it was much more basic fare.

Kim19 Fri 15-Jan-21 15:22:46

It's a toss up between cottage pie and spag bol. Both leftovers. Will decide in about an hour. Sb currently winning.

Desdemona Fri 15-Jan-21 15:19:22

Tonight I am having cod and chips from the local chippy with a side of mushy peas, served up with lashings of salt and vinegar. Accompanied by white bread and butter and a mug of strong tea.

Callistemon Fri 15-Jan-21 15:16:38

Fish Friday, with chips for DH, mashed potatoes for me

Puzzler61 Fri 15-Jan-21 15:08:19

Just as much effort going on here Urmstongran.
Cod in breadcrumbs, baked in the oven, oven chips.
Peas, bread and butter. It’s Friday so we try to keep the tradition of Fish on Fridays.
