DH asked did I want anything before he left for Golf. I immediately thought “bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, scrambled egg, and fried potato slices”.
I won’t have that for breakfast, but I do really fancy it sometimes.
I can almost smell it cooking! ? ?

What’s your usual breakfast?
What would you love to have?

I don’t normally have breakfast but my very favourite of recent times was in a swish restaurant in Abu Dhabi... smashed avocado on feast sweet potato topped with poached eggs and chilli flakes. One day I will get round to recreating it smile)

I only have a "full English" when I'm staying in a hotel or B & B.
At home, its either a slice of toast and a cup of tea, or nothing to eat, just the cuppa.

well I grew up on having a full English breakfast, and I am well aged!

now when I have had one at a restaurant, it is only half a breakfast,, our plates would be full when we were young,,
now .. well I haven`t had a proper full English at a restaurant yet!

now, porridge, fruit in the porridge and yoghurt. love it

I see nothing wrong with having a 'full English' breakfast, so long as you eat nothing else for the rest of the day.
What I crave is those old-fashioned stodgy puddings and hot custard.

mumofmadboys Tue 28-Jul-20 09:52:52

My favourite would be bacon, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Can’t beat full English on Sunday morning. Fried bread, fried egg, bacon sausage mushroom, fried tomato beans. Toast and pot of tea. Mmmm

A bowl of kiwi fruit, blueberries and grapes with a dash of granola plus small amount of semi-skimmed milk.

However on occasions I would have a full English, which would have to include black pudding! smile

I only eat a bit of breakfast because DHs nags if I dont (the importance of Breakfast is another Bee in his Bonnet). I dont really like any breakfast items so I have yogurt and fruit or toast and force myself to have boiled egg at weekends. Cooked breakfasts in hotels are wasted on me.

Full Welsh breakfast, complete with laverbread, toast and several pots of fresh coffee for me. But only as my holiday treat. Ordinarily it's a slice of toasted seedy bread. Boring!

EllanVannin Tue 28-Jul-20 09:31:04

If I got a whiff of it I'd polish it off grin A breakfast like that sets you up for the day. A spoon or two of baked beans too !

A full breakfast is what I have as a main meal of the day now, during the day between 3 and 4pm, that's when I'm hungry.
Thickly buttered crumpets suffice for breakfast now and if I have melon left, that as well with ginger. Drinking choc.

Overnight oats for me with blueberries...couldn't taste a thing as still no taste but feel my sense of smell seems a little better (I smelt newly moan grass and car exhaust fumes on Friday I almost jumped for joy).joy
I fantasize what I will have if/when my taste comes back today it is simple ...sourdough roast and marmalade..tomorrow it could be really good bacon, poached egg and mushrooms.Enjoy your breakfasts all of you .

O.m.g. Nortsat. Yes please! ? ? ?
And a vat of coffee for Charleygirl. ☕️ ☕️ ☕️

I do know Lorne sausage, the square one. Very Tasty.
I don’t think it’s so popular in England.
DH’s uncle would bring it when he visited which was every year at the beginning of the Glasgow fortnight, on his way to his English south coast holiday.
He also brought pies which had steak and whole sausages in - is there a name for them? ?

Nortsat Tue 28-Jul-20 09:12:30

Puzzler I had a brainwave (I hope you agree) - if MaryD is bringing Lorne sausage and potato scones, how about if I bring oranges and champagne and make us all a Bucks Fizz? ?

Charleygirl5 Tue 28-Jul-20 09:05:55

I have the same every morning- rain or shine. Two slices of toast with a banana mashed on it or if no bananas, homemade marmalade (made by a friend).

There is a lot of a Scottish breakfast I do not like so mine would be unsmoked bacon, black pudding, scrambled egg with cheese, toast and an unlimited amount of coffee. About twice a year I have that for an evening meal.

Marydoll Tue 28-Jul-20 09:04:00

Puzzler, I will bring onion Lorne sausage and potato scones. Sorry, but I hate black pudding!

midgey Tue 28-Jul-20 09:01:56

On my way!

GagaJo Tue 28-Jul-20 09:00:41

Back bacon, good quality sausage, fried egg, mushrooms, toast, builders tea. Mmmm Never have it unfortunately.

Today I had porridge. Worthy but bland. hmm

LadyGracie Tue 28-Jul-20 08:56:25

Yes please, if you’re offering grin

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 08:51:40

BTW the Aga is a dream, I’m not “wealth signalling” ?

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 08:49:44

Espee I must try avocado on toast, it seems popular and yet I’ve not had it, but I do like avocado. ?

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 08:48:09

I’m glad I’m not alone wanting a plateful of calories right at the start of the day ?

My breakfast rarely changes, it’s porridge or 2 weetabix and blueberries.

But we can dream - so. my Aga is heated, the pans are oiled and I’m inviting you all round to mine in 30 mins. Nortsat or Mary, can one of you bring black pudding please as I’m clean out! Pants I’ll keep yours on a low burner as you’ll be a while getting here ?

It can be full English / full Scottish it’s all inclusive ?

When I was going to the gym before the lockdown, I had porridge because it had the ability to keep me going for quite a while,

Funnily Terribull if I have porridge before I go to bed, I have a really good night's sleep. Don't suppose it does much for weight though.

Nortsat Tue 28-Jul-20 08:14:14

Yes Puzzler I’d love sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms. Coffee and wholewheat toast with butter... thank you, whenever you’re ready.

That was an invitation? ... yes?
