Could some of you super jam makers out there please tell me how to rescue some overcooked blackberry jam! The only way to render it spreadable is by giving it a ten second blast in the microwave but doing that is too much of a faff! The flavour is okay, it’s just the texture that is the problem. Is there a way of thinning it down?

You can add some water or fruit juice such as apple to warmed jam and give it s stir it should thin it. Experiment with a small amount until it’s a consistency you like.

Thanks tanith, I’ll give that a go. I only have three jars but I really don’t want to throw it out if I can help it!

Good luck it would be a shame to waste it at worst add to to a pie or crumble.
