Help Christmas cake burnt edges - can it be rescued

Mine has tinged on top because I forgot to put a greaseproof paper lid on halfway through.
I'll just cut the top off.

Simply shave the burnt bits off. Next time check your oven. Lining with parchment and wrapping in brown paper should not allow a cake to burn!

Trim burnt bits, lashings of apricot jam, marzipan then ice.

If you are going to marzipan and ice it you can get away with trimming quite a bit of the burnt edges.

What can I do to stop Xmas cake burning on edges and bottom? Followed instructions using grease proof paper and wrapping brown paper round

Can it be rescued with feeding ? took a Bit inside from bottom
And tastes lovely
