We bought a sack of Sagitta potatoes once the skins were set. Really wanted Picasso, but no luck.
Never having tried Sagitta before, have been impressed with them. They seem good when boiled, roasted, baked.
Bought from a farm shop.

Can one extend this to poor supplies for weeks. M&S in for a bashing again I'm afraid. New store opened January 2020 and just for starters:
Tinned Chopped Ham available once in eleven months; Black Grapes unavailable Tuesday this week; purple sprouting broccoli unavailable eleven months; fresh apricots unavailable eleven months; Sweet & Ripe Nectarines available three times in eleven months. I am beginning to feel Alnwick, Northumberland, is like living on the MOON.

We bought some in our Morrisons last Monday. Maybe it's logistics thing. Or maybe folk in this area aren't so keen on them so the stock didn't get depleted so quickly.

I wonder if they'll have any tomorrow......

I got some with my Sainsbury's shop this week and haven't ever had a problem in previous weeks. I never but any others either.

Waitrise always gave them too.

You've made me panic now phoenix as I've used a fair few over the weekend.

Are they like loo rolls? Should I stock pile?

Don’t think loo rolls make particularly good roasties, and I wouldn’t like to......oh never mind.

Plenty in Waitrose.

Plenty in my local shop. Though I have noticed that they are much larger than usual .

Don't think so kitty unless your potato keeping skills are better than mine!

They seem to start sprouting after about a week in this house sad

My go-to potato for roasties and baking. There were plenty in Aldi on Thursday. The quality has been better this year, too. Last year, wherever I bought them they seemed to be horrible.

Yes I agree, Maris Pipers have always been my favoured potato, King Edwards very much a 2nd choice. I've seen them both in Sainsburys and Marks where I've been shopping this past week.

Hmm, B9, feeling left out here!

Ellianne I prefer the huge ones, much easier to peel than the fiddly tiddly ones.

Thank you dontmind, may have to change my shopping habits!

We currently divide our main shop between Lidl and Morrisons, but there is an Aldi in the same town we go to, so will have a look.

Glad that you too think Maris Pipers are the way to go!

Plenty in our Morrisons too, sorry Phoenix!

I got a bag on my Tesco's delivery. They were all huge!

dontmindstayinghome Sun 08-Nov-20 15:03:37

No, plenty of them in Aldi.

They are the only ones I ever buy.

Hello all, usual good wishes.

For 2 weeks running Morrison's have not had any Maris Piper potatoesshock!

I'm a tad miffed, as imo they are the best for roast potatoes, knock King Edwards into a cocked hat!

Is it only here, or have others noticed?
