How about venison? There are some very tasty recipes. Or a brace of pheasants? Should be in plentiful supply and by all accounts not expensive.

Already mentioned upthread but we are going for double egg and chips with peas and ketchup. Followed by bread and butter pudding.

We love ham, egg and chips. I boil then roast a piece about once every two months. Then freeze pieces.

I'm thinking of the rib of beef in red wine that gwenisgreat1 suggested.

Salmon en croute maybe?

I'd love this but DH's taste buds are almost non existent these days. He used to love fish but can't taste it.

Sounds perfect!
Personally I'd like a thick slice of handcarved ham with that too
Yum, yum!

I have often roasted a rib of beef in red wine - Hmmmm!! Lovely!!

Beef Wellington?

WOODMOUSE49 Tue 24-Nov-20 16:01:12

Just the two of us.

Last year I did a pork tenderloin wellington. A little bit like a very fancy sausage roll smile. Lovely stuffing around it. The other half froze well.

We don't want chicken, turkey or duck. Looking for ideas on what to cook. Don't really want masses of leftovers though.
