What a treat! If they would freeze, you could use some of them in a ginger and blackberry trifle for Christmas. Or fill sweet pancakes with them and serve with cream or ice cream. Yum.

.....and ice cream, Oh, Trisher, I am beginning to think about tomorrow's afters at lunch time!

Now I want gin-soaked blackberry chocolates and ice cream!!! I'm thinking of asking for this thread to be deleted on the grounds it's just too much temptation!!

So many really lovely suggestions, I had better start another batch of gin to get enough blackberries!

My mind is moving to Blondi's suggestion. Blackberry gin chocolate would make a marvellous unexpected present for someone (but leaving plenty for me) and also using the blackberries with apple in a crumble

Welcome Blondi

Sounds yummy!

My first post here. Melt dark/milk chocolate, mix the blackberries in and then put spoonfuls in small sweet cases and leave to set.

Delicious ‘boozy’ chocolates!

Merry Christmas

Boasting here, but I have done 3 bottles of sloe vodka, and still have enough sloes in freezer to make another batch soon.

Ours were not small at all.

Yes, I would eat them in my porridge also.

Add apple and make Blackberry and apple crumble/ sponge pudding

Yes sloes were in short supply this year and so small.

Sorbet sounds gorgeous too.

GagaJo Sat 12-Dec-20 17:09:34

Sloe!

Ellianne Sat 12-Dec-20 17:09:14

I'd make a sorbet.

Blackberry gin jam. I once made slow gin apple jam. It was amazing. Add a 2nd fruit to make sure you dilute the gin content!

Willow73 Sat 12-Dec-20 17:08:41

Add them to your porridge in the morning for breakfast!

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Dec-20 17:06:27

purée and sieve, sauce for desserts, ice cream?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 12-Dec-20 17:05:34

Can you freeze them to pop into your gin instead of ice cubes?

M0nica Sat 12-Dec-20 17:03:55

I made blackberry gin this year instead of sloes because of a lack of sloes. I have just decanted the finished product into a settling bottle and I am left with 1 1/2lbs of gin-soaked blackberries that taste far too good to chuck.

So, how do i use them?
