I'm always surprised by how cheap they are, considering the mileage. They're my absolute favourite but so high in sugar I often cut a large one in half when eating with yogurt.

I never eat bananas raw. The last ones I had were a great improvement in my date and walnut cake. They're going to be a permanent fixture in the recipe now.

I do notice how cheap they are compared to years ago. I’m actually in awe every time I buy some…. Is this just me?

I`m beginning to think they are stored for far to long in the fridges in the supermarkets, like most fruit and veg.

The bananas from Ocado are usually lovely, but we did have some dodgy ones for a while last year.Didn’t ripen and then just went off and black.

No, I must admit I hadn’t, got some lovely bananas in Morrisons yesterday.

Try organic bananas, I find them tastier.

And they are bruised inside and go off really quickly.

Has anyone else noticed how tasteless bananas are just lately? The two or three bunches we have bought recently had no flavour at all at any stage of ripeness.
