Has any Gransnetter seen tins of creamed sweetcorn in the shops recently? I have one for Christmas Day but just wondered where I could get a replacement for my store cupboard as nowhere seems to stock it now. Tried making my own but not the same. Cheers and Merry Christmas

A Google search came up with this, as well as others.

Amazon - you can even buy cases of to 24 cans .
Didn't know it was still available - only previously seen when I lived in Australia !

Love this and thought it wasn’t made anymore so looked on Amazon (no Sainsbury’s here), £24 delivery! Think I will manage without it.

I think you might find it in an Asian supermarket if you have access to one.

I use it for sweetcorn soup there are some on Amazon but different brands worth a try.

I've seen it mentioned in recipes and often wondered what it is. Maybe in about 10 years' time it will become available here in Germany. I do have a soup recipe which involves sweet corn which is then pureed with the stick blender. Is that the same thing? Or does "creamed corn" contain some other magic ingredient?

There are lots of recipes for making your own creamed corn from scratch. You can use frozen or canned corn kernels.
Here is one.

Thank you for the recipe. So it's just sweet corn Minna creamy sauce

I didn't mean to post. So its just sweet corn in a creamy sauce. I thought it was something like creamed potatoes. Now I know. Was planning on serving sweet corn with one or two meals over Christmas. Might do a simplified version of that instead of just putting butter on it.

Thanks for all replies? Had a look on Amazon but postage a bit much. Not in my local Sainsbugs but I notice its on their online site so might put in an order and see if I'm lucky. Tried making my own - not bad but prefer the tin. I appreciate the replies, thanks again xx
