A near by pub restaurant supplied special meal recipe boxes during lockdown ( I think it may have been for Valentine’s Day last year) and it was lovely. It had lots of unexpected extras like a candle to light, a couple of after dinner chocolates and decorations for the table! The simple to cook food was excellent. It was costly but well worth it. A real treat!
I might try one of the above boxes next.

Our daughter bought my husband a Rick Stein box for his birthday a couple of years ago. It was great.

Glad to hear that I have made quite a few Rick Stein recipes. I was thinking about a box menu for a special occasion coming up soon.

We tried the Rick Stein box, before ordering for our daughter’s birthday, during lockdown. It was delicious and there was enough for another meal the next day. Must try the Cote Brasserie, which had good reviews on a previous thread.

Agree Cote selection is excellent. Used through out lockdown and have continued as a treat.
Will look at Rick Stein now thanks.

I decided to have a treat this weekend and order a box from Cote the French restaurant chain. Not only was it delicious but more than adequate. The box for 2 could easily have fed three. As I had registered with them before to book a table they had my details and 'knew' it was my birthday so included a bottle of fizz F.O.C.

I can also recommend the Rick Stein box which I had for my birthday as a gift from my sister last year.
