Ready made pastry out of date

I would definitely use it if it’s been kept in the fridge. Something has to smell awful or have mould on it before I throw it away. If you don’t think you will use it before the best before date, pastry freezes very well.

No problems at all. I fit looks good and smells good. Remember, all use by dates are very conservative. I keep pastry in the freezer, no need to worry about use by dates.

In my experience it goes dry or mouldy after a certain length of time - if that hasn’t happened, go for it!

It will be fine baking will kill bacteria I would use it I hate waste.

If it's the right colour I'd use it. If it has gone a bit grey, then not. Look, sniff and then decide!

Just taken some ready made pastry out of the fridge and it says use by 1 May. It looks absolutely fine. Would you chuck it out?
