I have just spent a productive afternoon clearing out my food cupboard. In the process ditched many bags of random shaped pastas, out of date this that and the other. Things I bought ages ago for some long forgotten recipe that only needed a tiny amount. I also discovered I had 3 tins of chickpeas ( DH doesn't like them) and 6 tins of chopped tomatoes and 5 tins of my DGS's favourite macaroni cheese.
And then there were all assorted herbs and spices ( they always remind me of the Michael McIntyre sketch).
It made me wonder, if you were starting from absolute scratch with a totally empty kitchen cupboard what would you consider to be the real necessities you would need to put in it?
Last weekend, in Rutland, the first statue in Britain of the late Elizabeth II was unveiled.

Well Labour’s “patriotism” didn’t last very long, did it? 🇬🇧
