I wonder if anyone knows where I can buy the good old fashion moulds you need to make English Madeleine cakes. I’ve looked all over the internet and all I can seem to find are stupid little moulds that hardly hold enough for a very small bite size Madeline.

There’s a very good selection on Amazon, my son had one on his Christmas list !

I’ve looked on Amazon Sue the ones I’m looking for are the cone shaped ones. The cone shaped ones on Amazon are really too shallow for making English madeleine cakes they need to be at least 8cm deep the ones they sell are only 5-6cm deep. Thanks for your reply.

I’ve got a tray of 12 Madeleine moulds. Sure mine came from Lakeland. Not particularly deep however.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I used to have a set of six that I bought years ago and they seem to have made themselves elusive I expect one day they may come to life. Unfortunately like everything made these days they get smaller and generally made of poor quality. I will check out the Lakeland ones though.

Google dariole instead of madelaine. The internet assumes madelaines are the French shell shaped cakes.

I used to be an avid and adventurous cake maker .

The only shops that I know of which have understanding bakery supplies are :

Divertimenti in Brompton Road London .
It began in the sixties and was unique then .

And one , which I tend to buy from these days :

Trevor Mottram in the Pantiles ,
Tunbridge Wells .

They also sell beautiful Nordic cake moulds , which I used to have to get from the US .

I think that they both
have a delivery service .

In the past , I've had a problem with entremet moulds .

I've not be lucky with Amazon and Lakeland , which have good quality items , but nothing new .

Good luck !

Dentons Catering equipment is where I bought from quite a few years ago.
