Russell Hobbs 3 tier electric steamer

I have usually used a Pressure Cooker but now I think it needs a new seal or the gadget that pops up on the top.

I have this steamer courtesy of Russell Hobbs after I bought a travel kettle which was faulty. They sent a replacement kettle and that had the exact same fault. They then sent another replacement kettle and that was faulty too.

They wanted to send me a standard kettle which I didnt want so I negotiated with them to send me a steamer instead which they agreed to.

Maybe I have the taste in my mouth because I am not used to eating food from the steamer. Maybe I could put a sheet of foil in the basket and place my food on that so it doesnt touch the plastic basket itself.

I just wondered if anyone else with a steamer like mine has had a similar experience? Thanks in advance.

You bought a steamer? I threw mine out years ago - when I got the microwave version. Then, that went when I got the Instantpot. Thank Heavens, that's stainless steel. Just send (or take) it back. It's quite bad enough being poisoned by food packaging:
