Haven't made that in years. Forgotten all about but now that I've been reminded I will make it again. My mum used to make it regularly for Sunday lunch.

Fleurpepper

Love an eve's pud, and so so easy to make. Good with ice-cream in Summer.

Got lots of rhubarb, might break with tradition and make a rhubarb one for a change.

I've done that before - we usually have lots of rhubarb too. Add a wee touch of orange or ginger for a change sometimes as well. I have to say that I prefer an apple eve's pudding to apple pie.

😁
I don't know what happened to our rhubarb, it didn't survive the winter.
We must buy another crown.

My Mum used to make it.

Sadly, I think it's just called rhubarb sponge, Fleurpepper
As is Plum sponge called plum sponge (also delicious).

Eve may not have had rhubarb in the Garden of Eden! 😁

(Sorry, just being pedantic.)

LOL, I stand corrected.

I've got an old BeRo book with the recipe in. It's years since I made it.

Aprons made in needlework for my year BigBertha1. I think first Domestic Science lesson was ‘how to wash up’ 🤣 followed by poached eggs on toast, fairy cakes……

Sounds great. It sometimes amazes me how fast a Kenwood or food processor can make baking.

BigBertha1 Mon 15-May-23 14:59:16

Oh yes it was the first thing I made in Domestic Science after we had made our own aprons.

Beechnut Mon 15-May-23 14:49:34

Gosh! That’s a blast from the past with Domestic Science lessons.

Yum yum !

Had some Bramleys to use up, so made one last night. I’d forgotten how delish, quick and easy it is - especially when my trust old Kenwood makes the sponge, and I don’t bother peeling the apples. 🙂
