Caulifower cheese with Christmas dinner?

Just seen on Facebook that Premier Inn now have a plate that keeps baked beans away from the rest of the breakfast food. Could use that for cauliflower cheese!

Also though, I don’t have gravy.

I would, in fact I’ll probably do it as I don’t eat potatoes so eat a lot of cauli.

I would have cauliflower cheese for my xmas dinner, with the other veggie trimmings, so if you have a veggie coming for lunch it sounds like a great idea!

I always make cauliflower cheese with a roast dinner.

We have cauliflower cheese with just about everything. Often have broccoli with it. I like it with mushrooms and sausages but am happy to have it with chicken, too.

I always serve up either cheesy leeks or cauliflower cheese as I don’t like cauliflower without a cheese sauce. But each to their own I think.

I love home made bread sauce! At a pub carvery meal once I spooned lots of it on my meal only to discover that it was horseradish, which I hate!

I love cauliflower cheese. I don't often have it with a roast but I suppose it would be lovely as long as others have said and the sauce is thick and doesn't touch the gravy!
I have a little recipe tip as well (which you all might thing sounds horrible) - but if you have any leftover bread sauce, add a big handful of mature cheddar, a half teaspoon of English mustard and a dash of Worcestershire sauce and you have an instant cheese sauce for the cauliflower.

Yes if it's a veggie roast, but otherwise not.

It’s lovely but can make for one side dish too many at Christmas. I tried adding it last Christmas but won’t do so again. A nice addition to an ordinary roast.

Yes but not a lot of sauce and it roasted in the oven a nice addition to the meal.

Yes I could eat it with Christmas lunch but don’t think we would have room on our plates! 🤣

Bread sauce though …… it is lush! Has to be my own homemade though. No packet stuff. Got that once at a pub xmas lunch and it was horrible.

I will eat whatever is offered. My son is a great cook and will probably serve cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire puddings with the turkey and all the usual trimmings. I wouldn’t bother making it myself.

I had only heard of eating cauliflower cheese with roast on GN.

No I like traditional Christmas dinner. It’s supposed to be different to all the other dinners. No things like mashed potatoes, peas or Yorkshire pudding. I always have chestnut stuffing too.

Ultimately it’s entirely up to the individual though.

I’d quite like it, but when I’ve been hosting for Christmas it’s just too much faff. Cauliflower cheese needs IMO to be made very last minute, straight from pans to table, def. not frozen in advance - we like our cauliflower a bit al dente, not soggy.

We would but don't always have bread sauce or cranberry sauce. MrA isn't a lover of turkey so we rarely have it and prefer beef or lamb so the sides vary anyway. We do have gravy at the same time, but don't mix them up 😄

Our GC,GGC love Emmental Cauli cheese, we make it for them.

None like bread sauce or gravy - no problem with Cauli cheese mixing.

I live on my own and rarely make gravy as I am not a lover of it. I would only have a teaspoonful and that is not worth the effort so I am more than happy to have cauliflower cheese with anything. If I liked gravy I would separate the two.
