Not exactly relevant, but I’m reminded of not too long ago in France, when dh was going to the supermarket and I asked him to get cornflour - I’d forgotten what it was in French, so he looked it up.

I knew at once that the answer was wrong - he’d only put in ‘cornflower’ instead! 😂
Poor old dh did get the mickey taken something rotten!

We've not tried a cornflour sponge but do use GF flour (usually Dove's).

I'm sure cornflour in the UK doesn't contain wheat although it does in some countries.

Gluten intolerance is apparently quite a painful situation (much like dairy intolerance). We have many family members with gluten, dairy, or egg white problems (think epipens).

I search recipes without the offending ingredients. I use almond flour, cornflower, almond milk, special baking powder, chia (no eggs for one daughter), ground nuts, seeds, ground oats.

You can use ground almonds as flour. Add gluten free baking powder. Makes lovely cakes. I use it all the time now because its nice not because of GF

it was fatless ,she says she cant get a light textured sponge with GF flour.

Why not buy a bag of gf self raising flour?

I have never seen a recipe for cornflour cake and am surprised there are only three ingredients? Surely that should be four? Flour, fat, sugar and eggs?

Help, please.I know I can get sites mixed up but am convinced I saw a recipe with 3 ingredients for a sponge. The flour used was cornflour.
My daughter has recently gone gluten free and would find this helpful in a house full of cake fans .
Can the person who posted it or anyone who has it please repost? Hoping I have the right site .
