I’m baking quite a bit this year, for various gatherings/people with diverse tastes - everything from mince pies to reindeer brownies, via a very unseasonal lemon meringue pie

If I was buying, I think I’d buy mini chocolate rolls, and turn them into baby Yule logs with some chocolate butter icing (you could buy that ready made too) and a sprinkle of icing sugar, which would be very quick and easy, and a bought plain baked cheesecake and top it with a quick fruit compote (maybe cranberry or blueberry), and perhaps some chocolate curls, or coarsely grated chocolate.

We like Christmas pudding in our house but for Boxing day I make a pavlova. It's easy and impressive.

I do a pavlova as dh and ac are not Christmas pud fans

That’s the one my daughter makes Shelflife, it’s lovely.

If you do
manage to find time , Delias chocolate log is delicious! I make it well in advance , wrap it well and freeze it . When you get to the rolling bit it always cracks, but this adds to its look. Remove from freezer on 23rd or 24th. It's not Christmas in this house without the chocolate log!!

Thanks for ideas.I’ll be working shifts right up to Xmas Day so will have to buy puds, and DD’s have very young kids and work too so will def rely on shop bought.

Attlee

This merangue wreath, I did it last year as I was a bit short of time and it's been requested again

Beautiful and it looks to be easy!

We've 5 meals, including ours Christmas Lunch. Each daughter selects a menu for herself and her spouse, grown children, their spouses, grandchildren etc.

1) Chocolate torte
2) Bowl of fruit and cream
3) Affogatto or hot chocolate and biscuits
4) Pumpkin sponge roll
5) Prosecco, Nuts, Chocolates -- Christmas Lunch on the 25th after attending Church -- our own favourites.

Oreo we’re not hosting this year, but when we do it’s mince pies, Viennetta and a Yule log my daughter makes. Why not ask your daughter(s) to make something?

How about profiteroles?
Maybe with strawberries 😋

I don't know what we'll be having, I'm not catering this year!

Am wondering what pud to serve on Xmas Day.I don’t have a lot of spare time so won’t be making or baking it, unless it’s real simple to do.None of my lot like the traditional Xmas pud or cake.Mum likes a trifle and DD’s like almost everything else.
What will you all be serving on the day? Any recommendations for an easy pud or good store bought one?
