A Big Mouthful

I notice that TC chefs when they are tasting their completed efforts take a Big Mouthful even Mary Berry! Well don't know about you but I was taught not to take a big mouthful when eating, certainly not to let anything escape and if it did to wipe it up quickly. Probably just me being picking but sometimes I find it nauseating. Am I alone in this?

I think it is a question of the circumstances in which you are taking a big mouthful. It may be that for judging the eat, flavour, texture and combination of all aspects of a cake, a large mouthful that includes part of each layer and decoration that makes the cake is essential.

It doesn't mean that Mary Berry or any other judge would do that if sat down at a table eating a meal.

Sometimes it is a small mouthful that leads to the food crumbling and spilling everywhere.

I like to see people eat tidily, but I do not find it big deal you do BigBertha1

Well it not a big deal just a bit nauseating as I said. I did wonder if it's like wine tasting and you have to get lots of air into your mouth to get the flavours started as it were.

Guess it depends if they’re wolfing it down or rolling it around the tongue to get all the taste?

I would not call it nauseating. In fact it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I just prefer it if people eat in a tidy fashion.

I think those 'tastes' could be all that Mary eats. She's always been slim and is becoming much thinner. So she needs a large mouthful!
