Tea bags

I have a light hearted but genuine suspicion regarding special offer on tea bags. I am referring to either price reduced boxes or 160 bags for 80 etc . Every time I buy any on offer they really don't taste the same as usual and are not quite right . So my theory is that the contents of them is either old/stale or 'the dregs off the factory floor' for want of a better description. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just to precious regarding the flavour of my tea ? 🍵

I’m not very precious about my tea, but I’m just having one and I so agree with you. It tastes like ditch water 🤮 I won’t mention the name, in case I get sued, but it’s a very popular brand.

You are probably right. It's maybe the same tea but lower grade?

I like loose tea so not familiar with this.

My granny would refer to these as " the sweepings of the factory floor"...hopefully not the literal truth.
