Lately I’ve used these several times in multi-veg soups - very tasty. I found a really big bag of them - 1.75kg - in the World Foods aisle in Asda, for £3.

Lentils are beneficial for the lungs apparently .

I am a frequent visitor of the world food aisle and Asian food stalls. I use dal split peas red and green lentils and oats every week for various recipes soups especially.
I use them to replace or add to small amounts of mince in many dishes curry pasta sauce cottage pie etc. My favourite way to use lentils and split peas is tadka daal I finish it off with fried spices called tempering its delicious. We eat it just with sliced raw veg or bread for lunch as a dip because its mildly spicy its a favourite of ours.

I use red lentils a lot in any mince based dish, Redhead56 - cottage pie, spag Bol, etc. but I really like the yellow ones in our substantial winter soups, though I do use e.g. pearl barley too.
