I made kedgeree recently - it was only after a recipe for it popped up on my FB page that I remembered I hadn't made it for ages! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Witzend How do you stop your rice from going soggy when you fry it with the egg? I've tried everything I can find but still get soggy egg fried rice 🙁

I only stir in the eggs once it’s more or less done. I’m not saying mine is perfect, but dh never turns his nose up. I do it with a stir-fry sauce made IIRC of soy and fish sauces, a little stock, and lemon juice (should be lime but I never have limes handy) plus a little sugar and white pepper. I always have to check the recipe! Sauce only comes to about a teacupful.
Rice of course needs to be cold, cooked in advance.

Queen pudding-making it this weekend at DGD’s request. I hope I remember how.

Try egg fried spaghetti, you get nice crispy bits

Looking forward to baking my annual pumpkin pie this weekend. Delia Smith recipe out of her first 'how to cook' book and its delicious - perfect paired with a pumpkin spice latte !

Was wondering earlier what on earth to have for dinner tonight, when I suddenly remembered Thai style egg fried rice - dh loves it - which I haven’t made for ages. Some tiddly little prawns out of the freezer will be added, plus stir fried veg on the side.
The rice is already cooked - I’m well ahead for once..
