M&S sell a midi cucumber which is quite a bit smaller than a regular one.

I used tobalways keep salad basics in my fridge, but I've given up now.

I agree. It is very difficult now to shop only once a week for vegetables unless you have access to very fresh ones.

Fresh veg never seems to last well, these days.
A day or so, and they've had it.

Never thought of wrapping a cucumber. Thanks Desdemona.

Hi Grannmarie. I will have a look in Morrisons next time I am there. I didn’t look this week as I didn’t need one but I went there on Saturday as they had Baileys for £8.50 if you spent over £45 . Good offer!

When you put cucumber in the fridge, wrap it in a clean tea towel. It lasts so much longer.

Thanks MayBee I have been keeping mine in the salad drawer so I will take your advice.

Hello 👋 Greenfinch! I bought half a cucumber yesterday in Morrisons.
60p, 95p for a whole one.

I now cut a cucumber in half, wrap it in foil then put it in one of those green bags that are supposed to prolong the life of vegetables. And I don’t keep it in the salad drawer, which seems to get too cold, but further up the fridge. They do seem to keep for ages that way. I was always throwing cucumbers away that had gone bad.

DH is the only one in our household that eats cucumber. You used to be able to buy half a cucumber but I don’t see any now and I hate waste. Does anyone know who still sells them or what I can do with half a cucumber other than put it in the food waste?
