We gave a (nowadays very rare) dinner party the other day, for a neighbour who’s leaving. I don’t do fancy cooking for guests (or anybody!) any more, so pudding was a big apple crumble. However there was half a jar of Delia’s mincemeat left in the fridge - it was fairly solid so I warmed it up in the microwave, easy to mix with the slightly cooked apples.
I’ve had apple/mincemeat crumble before, first in a pub, and did once make it some years ago, but had forgotten how well they go together.
Nearly everybody had seconds!
PS, main course was baked gammon with parsley sauce, lots of mash, green veg, in case anybody’s wondering. Fairly easy/low stress.
Mandelson failed security vetting. Starmer says he didn’t know
