I havenāt made one for a while, but in fact itās very simple - just a batter pudding with cherries thrown in, baked in the oven.
One recipe I have advises soaking the cherries in kirsch, but I much prefer it without.
I first made one at a BiLās place in France, where there were masses of cherries on the trees (not fat black - smaller red ones) that hardly anyone was eating.
So removing the stones was far too much of a faff - I then had to teach nieces (from Singapore) the Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailorā¦. ritual with the cherry stones. š
