I just have to have a fish finger sandwich before I go off to work for 7pm tonight.Have been thinking about it for a while and debating as to ketchup or mayo on it.Slurp!😋
Is there sometimes a drink or foodstuff that you feel you need rather than just vaguely fancying? And absolutely must have🤭

Toasted sourdough, with melting butter and cherry jam! Very very naughty and moreish and rarely eaten now!

I also love mayonnaise made with avocado oil.

A bag of very crunchy crisps, ready salted flavour.
Kettle or Pipers or similar.

Seabrooks for me, or wavy Lays in the USA.

Magnum Minis.
Almond for preference but Classic will do.
Rye bread buttered toast with home made marmalade.

I am just popping on the say this is the first time I have ever seen someone else say they would eat ketchup on fish fingers! I thought I was the only one. wink

I think that my name tells you all that you need to know. Peanut butter is not for humans, in my opinion: it is the food of choice for dogs...just saying..

For Marmite fans, we had some of the cheese and Marmite sausage rolls from M&S yesterday and everyone loved them - even those who normally don't like Marmite.

I’ve just discovered Nairn’s Marmite and cheese oatcakes. Very moreish.

Looks like there’s a kind of theme running through what foods we crave, fish finger sarnies, bananas, peanut butter, marmite and cheese🤔 oh and chocolate of course.
Thanks Witzend for your recipe I’m going to give those biscuits a go.
Do dogs really like peanut butter?

Do dogs really like peanut butter?
Peanut butter is a big incentive for our dog to swallow tablet she doesn’t want.

Oreo Sat 28-Jun-25 09:18:41

As dogs will usually eagerly wolf down most human foodstuffs how do you find peanut butter is the best? Not disputing, it’s not that kinda thread 😄just curious.

Btw I did have my fish finger sarnie last evening, on Hovis wholemeal and with added mayo, after a long mental battle between that and ketchup.Resolved to have ketchup next time just for comparison.😁

TheWeirdoAgain1 Sat 28-Jun-25 09:24:37

If I had a finger sarnies I've have ketchup AND mayo!

I just HAVE to have 2 Muller Corners every day - Banana Chocolate Flake and a Vanilla Chocolate Balls, washed down with a glass of Alpo Nutty Almond Milk! I can't get through the day if I don't have them and it doesn't have to be in the morning, it might be night or early hours!

With crisps it Savoursmiths Somerset Cheddar and Shallot for me!

Redhead56 Sat 28-Jun-25 09:44:37

Marmite on buttered toast and added to soups and stews. I make pies pasties etc with the addition of Marmite and white pepper. Olives anchovies tinned pilchards Bovril kimchi sauerkraut and pickled everything.
On a lighter note Heinz salad cream not supermarket copies. Garlic ginger and chilli a must for most meals even traditional English food gets the addition of these included.
Proper butter full fat milk yoghurt etc no light tasteless alternatives accepted by me. I do prefer old fashioned puddings and desserts nothing beats them.

I do crave a sausage sandwich now and then. And it has to be with white bread and brown sauce.

Of course goes without saying, it’s real caff grub.Haven’t had one in years tho, we haven’t been able to buy the beef sausages we used to for years so I kind of lost the taste for them.

Ferry, have you tried marmite crisps?

Marmite anything!

Local farm shop does marmite and cheese sausages and sausage rolls. I barely make it back to the car park if I get a sausage roll.

I always buy at least 3 tubs of twiglets at Christmas. Best if I try and buy them on Christmas Eve though. When my Mum & Dad were alive I used to get my Mum to hide them somewhere so I couldn't get to them.

Have you tried marmite and banana sandwiches, delicious.

Ferry 23 - Marmite is fabulous but Vegimite is even better. It is really hard to find so I stock up when I see it. I always have an extra spoonful after spreading it on toast.

Another vote for Vegemite here too. It’s so delicious.
