2 punnets of fresh blueberries, mixed with cornflour and sugar, crammed into a 20 cm dish. According to the recipe, pastry egg washed, with Demerara sugar on top.
I forgot to add the 1 tbsp lemon juice but it tasted fine anyway.

Here are the remains!
We shall scoff the rest tonight. 🐷🐷

That looks great. Blueberry crumble is good as well. I make a decent amount of crumble mix in the food processor and store it in a jam jar in the fridge. I always have frozen blueberries in the freezer. An ultra quick dessert with a bit of added sugar.

I might try that! It looks delish & I would like to see what blueberries taste like cooked. They are so easy to get hold of ~& even grow- these days.

Fresh cream, or custard? 😋

I’d have scoffed it hot from the oven with ice cream, then cold with hot custard and the last piece with Greek yogurt - no ‘we’ involved Witzend 🤣

Custard. Dh would have cream
if we had any, but I don’t like it.
I’m wondering about ice cream for tonight…

That looks delicious, it reminds me of the wimberry pie my mum used to make but I no longer see wimberries but I can remember the taste.

Discovered of late that fresh blueberries freeze really well. Just freeze and wash before eating.

I used to love bilberry pie that my mum made. Quite a different taste to blueberries and much smaller berries. Used to come in jars from Poland. Haven’t seen any for years.

I've just come home from shopping. I had a choice between blueberry pie, or apple crumble.

After lookingat the photo, I picked the wrong one.

Looks lovely, I shall make it. Does the pie have a pastry base??

Yes, so I made pastry with 8 Oz flour. Enough bits left over for half a dozen lemon curd tarts 🐷🐷

Pudding123 we had whinberry pie often when we were young. My gran’s house backed onto a mountain where lots of whinberry bushes grew. Nothing quite like it with Carnations milk.
We had blueberry pie in America, superb
