I’m looking for a no-bake healthy snack recipe using rolled oats/oatmeal, dates, perhaps peanut butter, nuts, maple syrup……loads keep popping up on fb but actually getting the recipes is virtually impossible. Have any GNetters any ideas please?

Hi everyone, I have never posted on here, but always read your very interesting posts. I always make the below recipe, they freeze well too in an airtight container smile

Thanks for the link Mandy I’ll definitely make those. And I like that website for other recipes, ta.

I would avoide peanut butter, not healthy and high in sugar. Almoravid cashew nut butter healthier if you need this. TBH nuts are the only healthy snack.

Peanut butter is relatively low in sugars (my jar says 4%) and has healthy fats, but not great for calories

Try Pinterest. So many super recipes on there.

To be honest I think that sounds really high in sugar.
And quite a lot of calories for a snack.

And right on cue, the food police have arrived...hmm

But she DID say healthy!

Exactly what I thought.

Agree: High in sugar & high in calories too.

Also very high in carbohydrates as well ..

Thanks for that! Rushed into the kitchen and made these ready for tomorrow’s flight! Much healthier than Ryan Air offerings!

Not if you are allergic to them! So many 'snack-type' recipes include nuts.....

I think she’s allowed to give an opinion and I agree it sounds high in sugar but nobody said she couldn’t have it, think u might need to wind your neck in a bit

Look on BBC food and there’s a Healthier Flapjack which is really good. Oats, seeds, dried apricots, dried cranberries, raisins, 1 egg, butter and golden syrup ( but not a lot) and cut into small pieces as it’s filling. You can pour dark chocolate over to be fancy.

They are - addictive!

All the sugars are naturally occurring, not added. Sounds delicious.

I make these in my food processor:
Healthy Snicker Snacks
Soft, pitted dates 120gr (provides fibre and sweetness)
Peanuts about 40gr (protein)
Peanut butter 1 generous tablespoon (protein)
Cocoa powder 1 tablespoon

Blitz to form a dough, not too sticky.

Roll in balls. Chill in fridge.

If I'm being fancy, I dust them with more cocoa powder.

Thank you Retread……..that’s just what I’m after. 😊

Try YouTube videos.

Put in the term you want in the search box and see what comes up.

Sorry. It did just sound really sweet.

Guess I’m a savoury person.
