what does Dubai chocolate taste like? I ask as I like almonds but hate marzipan . So as I like pistachios - will I like the new chocolate or will it be similar to marzipan ?

Funny, I have always thought of Neapolitan ice cream with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. I've never seen it any other way.

As for salted licorice, I grew up in a town with a lot of Dutch immigrants, and a Dutch shop very near to our school. Some nice salted licorice was always handy. I like the lightly salted one, though, some varieties are very salty and hard to eat!

As for hot honey; is it heated, or spicy hot? It doesn't seem to be on offer here.

Around here it sees like pumpkin spice everything is still on offer. I love a spice cake or loaf, but not a beverage.

It's basically a chocolate bar with a filling of pistachio creme and kadayif, which is like thin crispy strands of filo pastry. I like it, but then I love most things with pistachio in it, and I'm using to eating kadayif when we're in Turkey.

I haven’t heard of salted liquorice either but I doubt if I would like it as I dislike anything liquorice, aniseed or fennel flavoured.

The bag of cranberries is still in my freezer!

Really, must try to keep up with these trends as I hadn't noticed pistachio anything when I went shopping.
Never heard of Dubai chocolate either.
I did find some dark Lindt chocolate with sea salt though.

We used to gave cremola dessert as children, my brother particularly loved it. When my husband asked what matcha was, a waitress in a café recently likened matcha to eating or drinking grass. I think she was accurate. I love the smell of the fruit teas people make but they too regardless of flavour taste like grass. Nothing beats a cup of Ringtons proper tea. (As my elderly mum calls it.)

Does anyone actually like Matcha? It seems to be one of the must-have flavours in everything right now. I prefer pistachio.

I adored Cremola caramel desert too! Never found anything remotely as good since it stopped.

I much preferred the Neapolitan (pink, white and green) presumably Italian flag colours? to "chocopolitan" as it was known. Sadly the news got out that I like it, that stops further production in its tracks of anything...kidney soup, Cremola caramel dessert (like custard, caramel flavour),fishpaste, now even blancmange!

I blame Instagram (which I left), influencers and social media 'trends'. All are fed by manufacturers looking for things to sell and people seem desperate these days to rush not to be left out. As ever, I blame the pandemic, it has changed us in so many ways. Or didn't we used to have a phrase in the past, 'be there or be square? Ha, ha.

Cannot bear liquorice (or garlic) and not a lover of chocolate although I have very eclectic tastes on most stuff I don’t think my area (being a deprived area🤣) has picked up on these new tastes yet or just me not noticing them but that’s fine by me I won’t be looking out for them

We were in Scandinavia this year in our motorhome. Yes I agree that the salted liquorice wasn’t to my taste (a nice way to put it! 😖) but the chocolate salty liquorice is lovely. Really lovely. Addictive even! Søstrene Grene do two different ones both really nice. The one I’d love to find, I bought in Norway, but it was made in Finland according to the pack. 🤤 Can’t get that one here in the UK.

Love them; and they are better than almonds for the environment.

RedHead56 - Marmite is fabulous but I think Vegemite is even better. It's quite hard to find though.

I like pistachio flavour especially Kulfi available in the supermarket. I have bought Dubai chocolate a lot lately my daughter likes it I’m not a fan of chocolate. I quite like salted caramel and will try the liquorice as anything too sweet isn’t for me. I’m a savoury person bring on the Marmite.

Babs03 - Salted liquorice was popular in Norway this summer. I absolutely HATE salted caramel so didn't try this liquorice. I get really cross that it has replaced proper sweet caramel in shops, cafés, ice cream parlours. I presume lots of people like it though. Never tried Dubai chocolate but have noticed it everywhere. How is it different to our chocolate?

My latest favourite is frozen chocolate covered strawberries. Currently on special in Morrisons.

I've always liked Pistachio. I've really had enough of salted caramel now. Cakes and ice creams seem to have 57 varieties of salted caramel and very little else.

Seems if you put Dubai in front of anything these days you can hike up the price and some people will pay it!

Artisan is another buzz word which means there's a bit of flour dusted on it or something equally rustic looking.

I do love salted caramel though, but any caramel would do really...

Haven't heard of hot honey or Salted liquorice but would give them a try if they have doubled in price from the normal stuff!

Fancy trying Salted Liquorice, will give it a go... But Dubai chocolate didn't float my boat.

Love pistachio and was delighted to find bags of shelled pistachios last week. Never seen them before, lovely if you want to avoid a mountain of shells and broken fingernails.
