Best way to keep cheese

Esp at this time of year we often have 2 or 3 pieces of cheese ‘on the go’. After the first meal they look a bit ragged round the edges and, assuming they’ll come out again the next evening, my current solution is to tidy them up and put them in the utility room covered by the colander. Downside, the house smells of Stilton if someone leaves the door open.

Have never had one of those special domes and don’t want to acquire one now in my decluttering years. Have tried the special bags for keeping cheese but it never seems to look good when it comes out. Wrapping them individually in grease proof paper is a faff. Maybe a couple of tea towels would be good?

What obvious solutions am I overlooking? Thanks

Put them on a plate with a pudding basin upended over them?

I keep mine in the fridge in a plastic container. Just take it out of the fridge about 30 minutes before it is needed.

Same as M0nica.

We're vegan, however our children and grandchildren eat cheese. We may use less than most here. I wrap in baking paper and put inside a zip bag.

I also do the same as M0nica.

Keep mine in my ancient Tupperware cheese dish.

I use a wax wrap for our cheeses., works perfectly.

We've just had some cheeses delivered and they said to wrap them in waxed paper after opening.

Keep mine in my ancient Tupperware cheese dish.
Ditto, Calendargirl, lined with kitchen roll. Wrap the cheese first in it's original wrapping or baking paper.

Must look for waxed paper.

Same as Norah here.

wax food wrap
I use the beeswax wrappers, they last forever and keep cheese and other foods fresh. Huge range to choose from on Ebay or Amazon.

Or make your own…….easy peasy and very cheap to make.

Thanks all. Maybe I should give the fridge another try.
