Air fryer rolls

We ran out of bread yesterday, so thought I’d try a quick Air fryer rolls recipe I’d seen online.

300g Greek yogurt
300g SR flour (I used Wholemeal)
Pinch of salt

Mix all together and knead lightly on floured surface. Divide into 6 portions and brush tops with egg or milk.
Place in Air fryer basket and cook for 15 mins (the recipe said 175* - I have to say I never alter my air fryer temp - it’s a very basic one)
Very quick, quite tasty!

That’s worth knowing, thanks for posting.

Mmmm. Must try that. Do you think it would work in an Instant Pot?

Thank you. I look forward to trying. As I live alone it seems a much better prospect than buying a loaf.

Hmmm...I feel an experiment coming on...

My daughter says you can use the same recipe in a regular oven - hers is gas.

Makes me wonder why I spent all those £££ on a breadmaker!
That seems like magic, my only doubt is ...would they come out like that if I did them envy

They can also be cooked in a mug in the microwave! Sorry, can't remember the timing.

Apologies for hijacking this thread, but I found this recipe for microwave bread rolls. I am sure I used yoghurt for the ones I made. I thought it would be useful for those with no air fryer. There is no browning or crust but useful if you run out of bread. I see no quantities are given, but milk is added to flour in a mug until a sticky dough is formed.

What exactly is the temperature for an air fryer?
With this recipe.
I have a bake option on my large table top one lid Ninja oven.

Thank you for the recipe. I'll be trying the recipe out soon.
I wonder if anyone can tell me if it would work with gluten free flour?

That reminds me of a Jamie Oliver recipe I saw for flatbread, which turned out well for me. Will try this one, thanks for sharing.

Just basic flatbreads aren't they? You don't need an air fryer for them, in case anyone was wondering!

JaneJudge Sun 01-Feb-26 14:02:32

I'm sure I've made naan breads like this but cooked them under the grill, both sides

BlueBelle Sun 01-Feb-26 14:31:38

Tried it and they are brilliant can’t tell them from a real shop bought roll well you can they are better Thanks LucyAnna
I cook everything in the Airfryer on the same temperature
🤣🤣🤣never change it Greciangirl

Bluebelle I am the same, I only adjust the timings.

Something supposed to be oven cooked goes in the air fryer for half the time but with me keeping a beady eye on it. My air fryer has saved me a fortune.

Yes, it should work with gluten free flour, since there is no yeast in the recipe. You would use your regular gf flour and add baking powder. For self raising flour one usually takes 4 teaspoons baking powder to a pound of flour.
