I did Steak in mine yesterday.. Came out perfect.
I also use mine as I would my Oven, except for Cakes that I haven't perfected yet.

Tonight I cooked sausages in the AF 10 mins, set aside. Microwaved potatoes and "smashed" (squashed) them with the bottom of a mug. Put potatoes in the AF on sheet of foil, put sliced red onion, red pepper and tomatoes on top of potatoes, drizzled olive oil, AF for 10 mins. Then grated cheddar on top, grill in AF 1 minute. Dished up with the sausages on top of cheese potatoes, with baked beans on the side. OH loved it. (So I used AF and microwave).

I don't tend to buy sausage but this sounds very nice, thanks!

I pick out whatever vegs I've got in my basket and fridge. At the moment mostly root vegs and broccoli stems. Cut it all up in smallish pieces. Make an olive oil mix with salt, pepper and usually cajun spices.
Roll all the vegs in there untill all well covered. Put them in air fryer on roast (220 on mine) for c10 mins and check, you want brown edges and crispiness. Then throw all in soup maker or saucepan with veg stock and water and cook. I like my veg soup smooth. Oh lots of garlic too! Cple of dollops of my own thick yogurt or crème fraîche or/and grated cheese..and some toast. It's my go to.
Of course you can just eat the roasted vegs as a side with a piece of salmon... If I'm really lazy just some ready cooked and spicy salmon from Lidl

This is exactly what I was looking for- thanks. However- I wouldn't put them in a blender and make soup.

Tonight I'm having pork mince which I will probably just cook in a pan and have it with pasta because I don't know if mince is suitable for an air-fryer.

Roast chicken cooked in the air fryer cooks so quickly and has such gorgeous crispy skin. I stuff it with a quartered lemon, spray the skin with a bit of oil, sprinkle with herbs and cook breast down for the first half of the time, then turn over for the second half. I have got a probe thermometer to check easily when it's cooked. My favourite accompaniments are garlic bread which I put in after I take the chicken out and salad. I intend putting the air fryer on a table outside the kitchen window in the height of Summer to keep the heat out of the kitchen. I have only got a basic no name single drawer air fryer but a chicken just fits.

I never buy anything from Amazon.

I have good local shops so will try there.

Amazon sell the inserts we use tham all the time as they are easy to clean instead of cleaning the air fryer. But ones with wide apart ridges as the ones with close together ridges are a devil to clean .

I don’t eat fish or meat but do lots of vegi dishes in the Airfryer and do use Pyrex dishes for anything I don’t want going everywhere, the ones you can put in the oven Quorn and similar works well in there I suppose the same as a chunk of meat but obviously takes less time up
I haven’t touched my oven for two and a half years but still use my hob

I have just bought a new pyrex dish after breaking my old one- but it is too big to go in the AF.

Someone did tell me you can get silicon inserts to put sauces etc in so I am going to look out for these- maybe Lakeland or somewhere.

I like traybakes and one pot casserole meals so I'm not giving up!

Yes, chicken also seems to be the go-to meat for air-fryers although I am told you can also cook bacon in there?

I have just bought an airfryer cook book by the Poppy Cooks Person (forgotten her name) it has some good looking recipes in it - I've only done the chicken gyros from it so far but they were very good. And I've done a recipe that I found on line that was Crulispy Chilli Chicken.

I made the salmon, in the end I didn't use lemon but just seasoned the salmon and popped it in. In the other drawer I used baby potatoes and seasoned them with a little oil. They do cook well and taste good. The salmon was crispy but not dry. I boiled veg separately on the hob.
I had a conversation with someone earlier about how she uses the air-fryer- for chips and warming up chicken for the kids, she said.
I remember years ago recipes for all sorts of things you can cook in a microwave but people only used them for warming stuff up.
I will persist in my quest to cook a whole and tasty meal in my air-fryer.
Thanks for your input but it seems obvious that most people only use their AFs for basic stuff, and not really for doing any proper cooking.

Yes one does need to cook pasta on the hob, I omitted to add that a ladle of pasta water goes in to the cheese/veg mix at the end… it makes for a smooth sauce.

I was just thinking too - I air fry burger patties, also sausages, chicken of course, and anything that needs grilling - it is much quicker than the age it takes for my oven grill to heat up. Also fish cooked in a foil parcel.

Baking - I often bake muffins in my AF. Also frozen croissants.

I use mine like a mini oven so I use it daily,

So you can wrap the fish in foil and put it the airfryer? Sounds good as I like my fish with a lemon butter sauce so will try this too!

Apologies, I’ve only just seen this. Yes you can wrap fish in foil and put it into the airfryer. The caution with all air fryers is not to let anything “fly up” - from the air circulating - and touch the element.

The Cosori AF that I have has a grill function that I use for open grilled cheese toasties.

Not a recipe but an air fryer takes cheese on toast to a whole different level.

Would you be happy to share the method for doing this if you dont mind? Would love to be able to make a really good cheese toastie!

Doesn't the cheese get lifted off the bread by the fan? It does in my air fryer, but yours might be a different design.
I have to counter that by popping it in the microwave first, just long enough for the cheese to start melting so it sticks to the bread. At that point I transfer it to the air fryer.

I like to do a cheese toastie in my air fryer too, but have to pin the top layer of bread down with cocktail sticks to keep it in place.

Viral Boursin Pasta Sauce

Straight in the "bucket" i.o.w. I remove the grid/rack, put a Boursin cheese in the centre, around it put baby plum tomatoes, red pepper flakes, garlic, red onion, olive oil, stir ingredients (but not the cheese) so that it's all coated in olive oil. Towards the end of cooking time add baby spinach leaves. Air Fry for about 15 minutes at 175° - this might vary depending on the AF. Check and once the cheese has melted and veg is soft, stir it all together to make a pasta sauce. Yummy!

If my instructions are not clear, just search the title of it online and the recipe will come up.

Thanks- I can replace the Bousin for goat's cheese- this sounds great but would still have to use a pan for the pasta.

This is the sort of pasta sauce I like, so will give it a try!
