Pinot Grigio and Sav Blanc. I am in a wine club so we get to taste a lot of different ones each time we meet. We have to guess what they are and some are very skilled at it, even knowing whether the grapes grow on the sunny side of the vineyards or not. I live in a wine growing area, lots of vineyards nearby and most also have restaurants and cafes.

We had a very lovely Viognier in a restaurant last week. I think I might seek out a few more of those to try.

Oh yes - I remeber the first time I drank an antipodean Pinot Grigio. NZ. Bore absolutely no resemblance to the Italian version widely available here (but then neither did the price😂)

Ooohh - such a difficult question as so many variables . If I could only have one red and one white they would be a Bordeaux ( left bank) and white Burgundy. I love rosé in the summer - preferably a Provence. But I also enjoy Rioja both red and white. Have just discovered a very pleasant Romanian white in M and S for £8. My s-I-l is excellent at finding good buys in Lidl. Really love fizz as well

I used to buy a red wine in Asda, Lindemans Tollana, it was a very nice Australian wine, only cost about £5, but it was discontinued early 2020's.

Sago I have this in my stock already! I take a pretty pragmatic approach to wine if a wine at Aldi is rated by one of the wine experts, I go and get it. If I like it, I buy in quantity. I also like their Primitiva Puglia. I had some excellent Barolo from there but only one bottle left sadly and it's gone now. Same with a lovely Fleurie, a bit more expensive but delish, I opened the last bottle yesterday but again it's disappeared from the shelves. I rarely pay more than £10 for a bottle from Aldi tbh I don't know how they can sell their wines so cheaply but they are stunning value if you are prepared to read around for information.

Red wine gives me a headache.

My favourite wine at the moment is Barefoot Moscato. I only discovered it when I picked it up by mistake thinking it was Barefoot Zinfandel as the bottles are very similar

I am a rose girl too. I have very unsophisticated tastes and love Barefoot Moscato which is quite sweet.

DH enjoys McGuigan's merlot.

I'm wondering now if the good unusual but delicious Waitrose wine was from the Douro region Sago.

...and I do like a good port!

We only drink at weekends unless we’re entertaining and yes we have or daughter, SIL and children staying so the weekend has stretched out!

One of my favourite reds at the moment is this fabulous Portuguese Douro.

At £6.99 it’s a steal.
Aldi.

I am a Rose or fizz girl! Sadly I cannot drink much wine anymore as it makes me feel quite unwell quite quickly.

However, luckily, I can manage most cocktails and liqueurs!

Usually French, so many favourites to choose from.

Followed by New Zealand Pinot Noir.

I agree….on both counts. I came across it long ago and do remember it being mid range in price despite it being quite ‘elusive’.

Malbec, yes, but Chilean rather than Argentinian. Also a good Rioja. Can’t comment on whites as I don’t drink them.

Aglianico del Vulture,

I do prefer to drink unctuous reds.

I had a rather interesting wine from Waitrose last year. Very inexpensive and quite unusual. It was from Portugal, one of their Waitrose own wines "Loved & Found" collection. Can't remember what it was actually - but worth looking out for next time I'm in the store.
