I surpassed myself today - didn’t need a lot, but took advantage of several Nectar offers, including a half price leg of lamb for Sunday, and an Easter Egg for dh.
Bill was £44 odd - Nectar savings £23.82!!
(I’m not being paid by Sainsbury’s, in case anyone’s wondering!)

Excellent! I'm all for taking advantage of savings and offers. We save a small fortune.

Very upset to see my 155000 nectar points reduced to 5000 after a forced password reset. Have appealed, hope they can find out how to restore them! Has that happened to anyone else?

Surely it’s better not to build up so many points B9?

If your Nectar account got hacked or something, you could lose all of them?

Why not spend them more often?

I popped into Sainsbury the other day just to get the offer of the leg of lamb, as I imagine many did.Got one but they didn’t have many left.

I don't know if I have any Nectar points or if they have a use by date as we haven't been to Sainsbury's for years. The nearest one is about 30 miles away.

Excellent! I’m a Tesco shopper myself, but we do deviate for good offers!

Always nice to save some pennies!
A lady in front of us at Tesco yesterday saved £86! She had multiple joints of beef/lamb and sides of salmon which are all on offer.
I wasn't tempted, having a use stuff in freezer blitz as it's just the two of us. Just bought the offer veg in there and Lidl.

I did a big shop in Tesco yesterday. 55 items of which 35 were special club card prices. Moral of the story - don't shop in Tesco if you don't have a club card.

I had an email Feb 2025thanking me for using all of my Nectar Points at Sainsbury’s, Basingstoke.

As I was sat in A & E at an Essex hospital at the time I rang their helpline immediately. The lady was very helpful, all my points were reinstated there and then, nd a new card was issued.

If you have the Sainsbury’s App you can go into the Nectar Points section and see where it says something like lock your points which means you cannot spend them until you unlock them.

I get a Tesco order every week, there are always club card offers, This week I did a big shop and saved £45

TerriBull Fri 03-Apr-26 10:48:18

I think the lock feature on the Nectar app is a very good idea. Before they introduced it, I had over £70 worth of points used at a garage in Enfield, not me! Although having bought petrol at a Sainsbury's garage locally, I did wonder if somehow that was the source of my missing Nectar. I did get them reimbursed, their tech department were helpful. Although not everyone who has had that happen to them was so lucky I gather. In fact I started a thread here on GN about stolen Nectar, around the same time as reading an article on the subject, it was becoming a problem for Sainsburys hence the lock feature on their app. Wise to keep points locked until ready to spend them, I imagine there's no comeback since it's implementation, that onus is now on the Nectar card holder.

It's worth having a Nectar card if you happen to be a Sainsbury's shopper, same with The Tesco Club card, many products are discounted.

We are somewhat restricted with shops as live next to nowhere. Local town there is a Lidl. Aldi and an Asda local. No chance of all these deals at Sainsbury’s Tesco”s or Morrisons.

We go to Sainsburys once a week, we don’t do a big shop just items we particularly like. The Nectar offers are very good and they tailor make some of them to your previous purchases. We both have a Nectar card and when we swap which card we use on a Saturday we get extra offers, for example three weeks ago we used my card and were given a voucher for £6 off a £40 spend, we used it last week and were given another £6 off voucher which we will use tomorrow. We use our Nectar points at Christmas and usually get around £25 off our shopping.
