Alas no. Apple pie and frites (maybe the clue is in the name ‘French’) are not exclusive to the home of KFC, McDonalds and huge overstuffed plates or (largely) highly processed food.

For those who adore Ranch Dressing or any other salad dressing, one can purchase them from Amazon U.K.

I couldn't be bothered grinding up all those ranches.
I'll stick to salad cream.
Delish on fish.
And chips

I think it's being discovered by many not as an actual salad dressing, but as a dip for things like chicken wings, fried vegetables and even pizza (they dip the crust).

I'm not fond of bottled dressings, but will have some on hand for my grandchildren when they visit. They use it as dip for fish or chicken fingers, even for chips.

As others have said, Ranch dressing has been year for years - the men haven't been doing the shopping clearly.

Honestly thought that this was some new kind of new fashion. You know like dressing up as a Cowboy. Billy the Kid. Cowboy boots etc

You know how the Yanks like to glorify their Old Wild West lifestyle.

Of course, in the main the supporters are male who probably don't do much shopping to have noticed Ranch Dressing has been available here for years. I know, I know many men do shop for food items but amongst the 1000s of football suppu4rters out there I feel that the percentage will be low.

I had an aunt who would fill her suitcase with peanut butter from the US to bring home.

I had a friend who would bring a suitcase back full of rubbishy sugary American sweets and powder mixes for various foods such as bolognaise.

I should have added this above. We can't buy brown sauce in the US. We have to special order it. My sons are going to the world cup games in Kansas City- they would be happy to trade ranch dressing for brown sauce.

I'm in the US. My favorite is poppy seed dressing - no ranch for me.

It isn't that hard to make to be honest. I am sure that for some people, it is not standard and that is why they are agog over it right now.

Every time I go to Mexico, I buy vanilla to bring home. It is expensive here so we end up with vanilla flavored extract. And I have forgotten to put it in checked luggage and had it confiscated at customs.

I love Ranch Dressing but you don't always find it in our supermarkets. I've made it using the powder (which you can buy on line) and it works very well

So..whats in it, Redhead, to be so popular? whats the big deal?

It's easy to make don't understand the fuss about it.

I now understand why it's on special offer in Tesco. I thought it was to do with the sun coming out after a wet start to the month but it's football.
