What is the last new food you ate?

Out with a granddaughter her favourite at the moment is bubble tea, so I tried it and won't be having it again

Don't laugh, but heritage tomatoes.
I'd never tasted them before, and the flavour was amazing, well they were from a French Market in the South, and totally ripe. We drizzled olive oil on them, too good to put in a baguette!

Oops, I don't think they are the "latest" food, but " latest" to me, so that'll do! 🤣

I'm hopeless at trying new foods, my husband despairs of me. The last thing I tried was a confit porc dish with peppers, spices etc. It was actually delicious so I should be a bit more adventurous.

Guanciale from the local Italian deli. Cured pork made from pigs' cheeks. Like nothing else I have tasted, fabulous in spaghetti carbonara.

Not a food, but a drink - matcha .
It tastes like grass cuttings and needs flavouring .

We used to grow those in our garden in Normandy. DH used to keep the seeds for the following year. Here in England we have found some good ones in M and S from the Isle of Wight.

Samphire, I have tried it steamed and stir fried in butter, both are good. It tastes slightly salty which I like.

Vegan chocolate banana cake in a café. It was great.

Matcha tea. I can only assume it hadn't been made right. It was absolutely foul!

As newly diagnosed with Coeliac Disease I tried to make my own gluten free bread....it was disgusting. Oh how I miss the delicious sourdough. But alas no more.

Kohlrabi. I was staying with my daughter a couple of weeks ago and bought it at the local farmers market. Totally new to me, but thinly sliced into a salad it was really tasty and apparently really nutritious. I've never seen it for sale before.

We have an SiL who is coeliac, you can buy Warburton’s sourdough bread from most supermarkets or a lovely sourdough loaf from Gail’s and Waitrose sell a good sourdough loaf, all gluten free.

I tried Keffir, not sure of the spelling there, is a yogurt drink. A bit like a milkshake but I wasn’t impressed, not overly fond of milky drinks, or yogurt 🙄

I tried kimchi recently but did not like it.

I'm staying with friends and am drinking a margarita for the first time. Delicious, a bit like tequila which I had with DH in Malibu years ago.

I buy Warburton's gluten free Tiger bread from Tesco, it's the nicest I've found.

My Panasonic bread maker has gluten-free programmes for bread, cake, pasta and pizza dough.

Coffee flavour gelato at Lake Garda last week, yummy. I don't usually go for coffee flavoured things but really enjoyed it.

Yes I had this earlier this year as part of a dish in a Japanese Sushi restaurant.
I didn't like it either.
I almost never try new food.
OH and I are both terrible stick-in-the muds over food but I am the worst.
