Limericks 11

What's about roadworks that gets us so mad
Stuck in another queue and feeling sad

There was a loud bang in the night
I woke with a terrible fright
My pots and pans
Grew legs and hands
I couldn't wait till morning light.

What's about roadworks that gets us so mad

There was a loud bang in the night
I woke with a terrible fright
My pots and pans
Grew legs and hands

Gemini, shall I continue ?

There was a loud bang in the night
I woke with a terrible fright
My pots and pans

Yay ! I’ve got it ....?

Very nice, Gemini! One line each now...

There was a loud bang in the night
I woke with a terrible fright

She dusted off her pointed hat
And woke her sleepy little cat
Then mounting her broom
She left the room
And that was the end of that.
THE END

There was a loud bang in the night

True, Gemini.?

Yes. I haven’t got the hang of this yet. But it is making my brain work which is I suppose what it’s all about.

I w ont add to this for now but would just say Jangran’s line is in keeping with limerick style. Gemini’s sounds ok but is just an “ordinary” rhyme. As we have two threads entitled Limericks we could use one for rhyming verses and keep one for Limericks. The latter is a specific format as several people have pointed out before. Just an idea and I appreciate it’s just a game!

She dusted off her pointed hat
And woke her sleepy little cat
Then mounting her broom

She dusted off her pointed hat
And woke her sleepy little cat
C’mon babe there’s lots to do

She dusted off her pointed hat
And woke her sleepy little cat

Oops. Sorry. Let me think ....

She dusted off her pointed hat

Yes, Gemini’s three line addition actually made a perfect limerick rhythm so - looking forward to the next line.

Nice Gemini, but we each add a line. The poster who adds the last line starts off the new limerick, so would you like to carry on?

I let them in
Because of the din
I couldn’t take any more.

The debt collectors are by my door
They are knocking loudly so can't ignore

Man’s best friend is his dog
Though personally ours is our mogg
My friend dotes on her horse
Mainly since her divorce
And she lives her life in a fog.

The debt collectors are by my door

Oh dear!
?
Man’s best friend is his dog
Though personally ours is our mogg
My friend dotes on her horse
Mainly since her divorce

Kathleen O'Mailly had at last found her man
And so a torrid relationship began
It was doomed from the start
He was sure to break her heart
Oh poor Kathleen, chin up if you can

Then Daniel Maguire came into her life

Man's best friend is his dog
Though personally, ours is our mogg
My friend dotes on her horse
Mainly since her divorce

Man's best friend is his dog
Though personally, ours is our mogg
My friend dotes on her horse

Man's best friend is his dog
Though personally, ours is our mogg

Kathleen O'Mailly had at last found her man
And so a torrid relationship began
It was doomed from the start
He was sure to break her heart
Because his love was his Afghan.
