And so a torrid relationship began
It was doomed from the start
He was sure to break her heart

Who was always walking round with a frown
But his poetry did beguile
So she tarried awhile

But then realised he was really rather prim
These were tough farming folk
Thought him a bit of a joke,

Who decided to visit family in Cork
He took the ferry at noon
So he could lyrically swoon
At meeting the cousins O'Rourke

Went out for a Christmas Eve meal,
She was dressed to the nines
As she frequently dines
Where the folks are very genteel
