Good morning virtual pupils, here is today's problem. No I don't mean those troublemakers, Gilly and Doodle! wink.
Many years ago, I had to lie flat for a couple of hours, whilst having a full body scan done. I passed the time, counting how many squares were on the ceiling. ?
The difficulty is that four square ceiling tiles together make one large square, so I kept losing count. The radiographer thought I was mad.
That was a hint to the solution, by the way. wink

Thanks Marydoll, that is kind of you smile

Nobody is useless, Henetha. Once you have done a few, you start to get the hang of the tricky bits. Keep trying. smile

Is it 31? I'm useless at this sort of thing

I’m coming in for a third go and say 36 !

MissDoll you are driving your class mad !

Bathsheba Mon 06-Apr-20 10:02:45

40. I've counted so many times, I'm going ever so slightly doolally. But 40 is the most I can get. It's slightly offputting that they look like rectangles!

Marydoll Mon 06-Apr-20 09:53:32

For the purpose of the puzzle They are SQUARES. They may appear to be rectangles, depending on the device, you are using..

mary51 Mon 06-Apr-20 09:52:31

I make it 17.

JackyB Mon 06-Apr-20 09:48:02

I have got 34 so far, but they look like rectangles to me, too, so I'm not sure if, say, two by two is really a square.

FarNorth Mon 06-Apr-20 09:45:21

36, I bid.

Nana3 Mon 06-Apr-20 09:37:34

40. Will check again.

gillybob Mon 06-Apr-20 09:36:38

You OP made me smile Marydoll . When my DH was brought out of his coma he was given a speech valve into a tracheostomy . It took him ages to get out what he was trying to say and he couldn’t hold a pen . One of the consultants brought him a letter grid so he could point to the letters to form words..... his first words were .....”22 squares” ....the ceiling tiles he could see in his bay .

downtoearth Mon 06-Apr-20 09:35:06

35

gillybob Mon 06-Apr-20 09:32:39

No make that 32 !

gillybob Mon 06-Apr-20 09:32:04

I’m getting 31 but I’m going in for a double check .

tanith Mon 06-Apr-20 09:31:55

This is just meant to just help pass the time for people, so please don't take too seriously, just a strategy for helping to keep the brain cells working and an opportunity for a bit of social interaction.

I will be back later, with another teaser. I've more important things to do, I have bread ? to make and there is a great drying wind. ?
