Some of the limericks on the Gransnet threads are really good and worthy of publication I think .
Some don’t keep to the rules. I know games are for enjoyment and it’s all about the taking part but I wondered if anyone else would feel like me ? Could we have a thread of limericks which stick to the 88558 syllable rules ?
I hope it’s not out of order to suggest this. What do gamesters think? AIBU ?

I know it’s not wise to eat sweets

I know it's not wise to eat sweets
But life is so dull without treats
Soft centred are best
Had em all on test

( let's just say it's a good job I've got my first hair cut in 5 months on Friday: blinking straighteners )

MissTree Sun 02-Aug-20 18:37:01

Booked a trip to go to Bournemouth *
They travelled by train
It started to rain
And all of them longed for a drouth.

My laundry was finished today

Bathsheba Mon 03-Aug-20 07:56:04

My laundry was finished today
And I should be ironing, but hey...

(some more poetic licence please - ironing pronounced as just two syllables wink)

Annum Mon 03-Aug-20 08:06:28

My laundry was finished today
And I should be ironing, but hey...
It’s too hot for chores

Jangran99 Mon 03-Aug-20 08:10:55

It's windy outside, hip hooray
