On another thread, (about hijacking threads, if you want to find it) this was suggested as a potential thread title - each post to have nothing whatever to do with the previous one I though that a very good idea, but no-one seems to have taken it up and started one, so here goes. Not a conversation, no sequencing, totally non sequiturs.

Supermarket potatoes are sprouting faster than I can cook and eat them!

I’ve just driven past a giraffe!

Summer t shirts on the hangers at the front of the wardrobe and I’m expecting to wear them all during the warm weather forecast for the next week ??

Callistemon Sun 30-May-21 11:36:39

My linen summer trousers are a bit tight shock

We’re meeting the family at St Ives today. smile I’m not sure why I felt the need to clarify on our WhatsApp group that it’s the Yorkshire one. I doubt any of them would have set off to drive 400 miles to Cornwall for the afternoon. blush

I think I'll go blonde again. Fed up with greyness.

DanniRae Sun 30-May-21 12:11:18

henetha - Do it! smile

Funny how my summer clothes seem to have shrunk while they’ve been away in the cupboard.

Hmmmmm Thai food. Lunch has already worn off. Och.

henetha Mon 31-May-21 11:59:37

I ate a whole packet of Jaffa Cakes yesterday.

Glad I wasn't aware of the Kent Garden show over this weekend, I would have been tempted.
Traffic in the area is apparently horrendous.

I've come across a new word today - gurgleclick. We could each put up one new word we've learned each day!

Panic stations. Only three jelly babies left...

That Bounty bar was delicious

Puzzler61 Mon 31-May-21 19:08:45

I’ve eaten 1 bar of a 2 bar Twirl. Mmmm ..... can I resist the other bar ??

I seem to have lost the knack of knowing what to wear. Jeans or dress for a cool house on a warm day? confused I’ll decide tomorrow, before we set off.

Completely coincidentally with a previous post, I learned Negus today.

Negus is a drink made of wine, often port, mixed with hot water, oranges or lemons, spices and sugar.

Callistemon Mon 31-May-21 21:01:48

I never found the knack of knowing what to wear.

Arthur Negus- antiques expert.

Clothes all washed and dried, put the ironing board and iron out last Thursday morning, it’s Monday evening now, still looking at the pile.

I am driving myself crazy because I really want to grow my fringe out - I have had to keep cutting it because I can't stand it when it gets to a certain length (Claudia Winkleman's drives me mad too!) However, whatever I do to keep it out of eyes - headband, hair grips, slides - looks awful. I keep saying "Well when you get to a certain age comfort is more important than vanity" but then I catch sight of myself in the mirror or, worse still, see a photo of myself (we have a new granddaughter so lots of pics of nana with the baby) and I want to cry I look so awful! What am I to do? Due to have my roots done so I think I will give in to vanity and get her to cut my fringe!! confused

My son bowled a double wicket maiden over on Sunday. I've not mentioned it to anyone in RL because it looks like I'm bragging.

Mamardoit Tue 01-Jun-21 09:29:49

NB. for anyone unfamiliar with cricket the maiden was not a young female.

Mollygo Tue 01-Jun-21 09:35:20

Congratulations on your son’s brilliance!?

I’ve just seen a squirrel run up a tree in the garden, walk along the bar where the bird feeders are hanging and attack the nuts.

I went out with new friends for dinner on Saturday; after an hour’s mannequin parade trying to decide what to wear, I felt so uncomfortable that I wore same old, same old which I’ve been wearing during lockdown. Pathetic when I have a choice from 2 wardrobes ? (although like Juliet’s most of them have considerably shrunk in the past year?)

henetha Tue 01-Jun-21 10:01:53

I've just remembered I forgot to put the washing on.
I must go and do it now. Rain is forecast tomorrow.

Parsley3 Tue 01-Jun-21 13:18:14

I am sitting in my garden watching a skinny, little, mother starling feeding two very noisy fat babies. The poor thing is being rushed off her feet.
