On another thread, (about hijacking threads, if you want to find it) this was suggested as a potential thread title - each post to have nothing whatever to do with the previous one I though that a very good idea, but no-one seems to have taken it up and started one, so here goes. Not a conversation, no sequencing, totally non sequiturs.

Supermarket potatoes are sprouting faster than I can cook and eat them!

Do I need to buy more kindling, or will it warm up soon and the log burner will no longer be needed

The windows were cleaned this morning. I suppose I had better clean the insides now.

Yet another delivery man who thinks I don't know where I live. The third time this month someone has tried to deliver us someone else's parcel and argues with me when I tell him it's the wrong address, even if it is the right number and the road begins with the same two letters.

Ordered a new phone for MIL yesterday evening, it has arrived already

Our flowering cherry is now fully out, so I can guarantee that within a few days there will be a howling gale to blow it all down and deposit a ton of pink snow for us to sweep up.
Happens without fail every year.
I just hope it rains at the same time - we could really do with it.

Just spent the last hour picking the muck out of my hoover bag as the hoover bag shop is still shut.

The 3 year old next door put a small stone tortoise on our wall and announced, “Hector has had a baby!” Hector is our tortoise, but it’s not my job to do Sex Ed with toddlers.

I bought some plants yesterday, but it was so cold overnight that I don't think I should plant them out yet. I'll leave them in the porch for a week or two.

I'm going to recycle the pile of Waitrose Magazines that are taking up space in the under stair cupboard. Then maybe I'll be motivated to reorganise the cupboard.

Why do I get days when everything happens - car in for MOT, builders turning up, two parcels due. Then other days absolutely nothing happens ?

Savvy Tue 20-Apr-21 16:09:01

Why do the builders in my street only seem to move their butts when it's home time? They seem to spend the day sitting on the wall drinking tea, but come three o'clock all you can see is a dust trail.

My neighbour's dog has been barking all day for some reason. Not sure why.

Mollygo I've bumped up the Storytime thread. It's showing under Active forums, Games.

This morning an unopened bottle of soy sauce fell out of my kitchen wall cupboard onto the metal knob of a cast iron casserole. It shattered and the sauce hit the ceiling, work top, cupboards and floor. Why does anything that falls always end up in the cats' bowls?
