Hello Again!?
Third thread here - too early for a Summer Time Special; especially considering the current weather ?️☔

Okay, here goes:
Who is your favourite comedian, and your least favourite?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 24-Aug-21 11:58:18

I like a good film with an interesting story, my favourite B&W films are Some Like It Hot and Random Harvest.

Which radio station do you listen to the most?

hollysteers Tue 24-Aug-21 10:51:27

It would have been useful, career wise, for me to have moved to Italy, but it didn’t happen.

Do you like black and white 40s films? (I have lots recorded on Talking Pictures)

henetha Tue 24-Aug-21 10:48:17

Yes, we did seriously considering emigrating. Some friends of ours were coming with us to Australia. We got as far as filling in lots of forms when they pulled out. So we didn't continue with the application. I regret it now, having been there and seen what a lovely friendly place it is.

There are some bargain cruises on offer. Anyone tempted?

FannyCornforth Tue 24-Aug-21 08:14:11

Yes, I’m very English. My family’s past generations are all very English. My dad has done a lot of ancestry research, and there were no interesting surprises.
We don’t seem to have to travelling gene!

If you could go back in time, would you have considered emigrating? Or indeed, have you already?
I think that if I knew then what I know now, I would have concentrated my education on learning languages, and moved to a Scandinavian country.

denbylover Tue 24-Aug-21 04:59:26

No I haven’t, I always looked at them with first a dubious eye re safety, then with a thunderous one when they used to skim across our paddocks sending sheep and cows over electric fences! The whooshing sound seriously unsettled stock

Were you born in the country you now live in?

Juliet27 Tue 24-Aug-21 02:06:11

I live about 15 miles from where I was born…never lived any further.

Have you ever had a hot air balloon trip?

biglouis Mon 23-Aug-21 23:29:57

I am single and divorced but we divorced by mutual consent and the blame for breakdown was shared equally. I should never have married anyone. Too fond of my own way. I never re-married or wished to.

Do you still live in or near the place/city where you were born?

I lived in one city til mid 40s then came to another to be a mature uni student. Have lived here ever since except for a year in the USA.

crazyH Mon 23-Aug-21 23:18:08

Yes, I have a small front garden with a couple of low variegated shrubs (epi something japonica ) in the border. I throw some lights on them and that makes it look pretty

If you are single and divorced like me, do you ever get days when you regret some things which perhaps caused the breakdown of your marriage. In my case, I was too wrapped up in my children’s lives, education, extra curricular activities etc and was too tired for anything else.

BBbevan Mon 23-Aug-21 20:05:56

Until they deflate on their own.

Do you have outdoor Christmas lights?

Mollygo Mon 23-Aug-21 18:43:56

Couldn’t choose just one, so dark blue, rust, sage green with white shirts/T-shirts.

Helium filled balloons sent for our WA are still inflated. They look great and I’m reluctant to burst them. How long would you keep them?

BBbevan Mon 23-Aug-21 17:56:05

Absolutely hate Youth Dew, it makes me feel sick.
A old one I like is Mitsouko .

What is your favourite colour for clothes, ?

FannyCornforth Mon 23-Aug-21 15:37:56

Phone. I only like the mobile site. And it’s much quicker to type on than my lap top.

An oldie but a goodie - favourite perfume?
And any that you dislike?

biglouis Mon 23-Aug-21 15:21:23

Just my wash up bowl. I have a cleaner who comes in twice a week! I hate housework but am disabled so thats my excuse.

What device do you mostly use for Gransnet? Computer, tablet or phone?

I have 2 desktops and 2 laptops but I prefer the desktops. The tablet is ok for carrying about and for sitting when relaxed but I only really se it to scan the news.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 23-Aug-21 14:13:20

Oh crumbs, I think I'd have to choose cooking - after all, who really wants to flick a duster or push the vacuum? Certainly not me.

What's in your kitchen sink at the moment? Or have you been good and cleared it?

hollysteers Mon 23-Aug-21 13:47:27

Chocolate.

If you had to choose between cooking all day or cleaning all day, which would you choose?

labazsisslowlygoingmad Mon 23-Aug-21 13:19:28

afraid we dont have a tv so did not see the photographs but will probably see and vote online when I get an email usually do

what is your favourite ice cream flavour

henetha Mon 23-Aug-21 10:40:55

Yes I will definitely be glued to Strictly because I love it too!
I think it is absolutely wonderful. The music, dresses, fun and laughter, skilled dancers or terrible dancers, it's all great!

Did you see the Countryfile photos last night and will you vote for your favourite?

DanniRae Mon 23-Aug-21 07:54:21

If I do watch morning tv it will be BBC as can't stand the ads and I like the people on their morning programme. However, as I get up much earlier than Mr R, I catch up on the things I have recorded that he doesn't like! And come on here, of course grin

Are you looking forward to watching "Strictly?" (Don't bother to come on and say that you dislike it, it's not as good as it used to be etc because I don't care - I love it!!!!!!!)

BBbevan Sun 22-Aug-21 17:40:37

Yes probably would as long as the white was set.

Do you watch morning television, and if so what and why?

Mollygo Sun 22-Aug-21 17:02:26

Yes. I hate heights but I knew people would ask, so up we went. Amazing view.
Spinnaker tower-lower but I didn’t want to disappoint the GC. I couldn’t walk across the glass floor even to please them.

Would you eat scotch eggs with runny yolks? It suddenly seems to be in fashion.

biglouis Sun 22-Aug-21 16:12:09

I have never bitten my nails.

Have you ever been up the Eiffel Tower?

Been to Paris multiple times but never been tempted - dont like tall buildings.

henetha Sun 22-Aug-21 11:32:30

Travelling Europe in a motorhome; just love the freedom and moving on whenever the mood takes you. Definite favourite was France.

Did you used to bite your nails? At what age did you stop?
(I bit mine until my late teens).

crazyH Sun 22-Aug-21 11:15:36

The South American Toucan. These colourful birds used to sit on the balcony of our holiday apartment.

Where and why, was your best holiday?

FannyCornforth Sun 22-Aug-21 07:47:19

I absolutely love birds. I hope that you have a smashing day Molly. ?
As you probably know (because I mention it at every opportunity) when I was younger my parents had pet Tawny Owls.

Do you have a favourite bird?

Mollygo Sun 22-Aug-21 07:31:24

Yes, whenever I cook and I sometimes keep it on when eating spaghetti dishes.

We are going to an RSPB place this morning. Do you like birds? Would you go?
