Now that the rain has cleared away, I have secured a huge field for our jamboree ( courtesy of Farmer Giles as usual.) Bring camping gear, food, drink, and useful or decorative items.
No wives/ husbands/ partners/ toy boys allowed but you can bring a well behaved dog or cat ?
As always, in alphabetical order, and bring lots of things to do as we could be here for a long time. This is also a chatty time really, so say anything you like ( within reason?)

I will start things off with...
Apple pie ( from M&S) as I have a bit of a thing about it at the moment, which is why I shall be mainly wearing elasticated skirts and chinos for this shindig.

Fruit, for a more gentle way to deal with the previous problem.

Donuts, Crispy Creme ones! Fortunately Lord Lemongrove has provided us all with a box of a dozen each, so that will last us a day or two.

No, if you put your specs on you will see they’re Zebras.

lemongrove Tue 29-Jun-21 15:03:34

Yaks? Or it could be bulls? Haven’t got my specs on, but several large threatening looking animals are hoving into view, who left the gate open?

LauraNorder Tue 29-Jun-21 13:45:13

jam...I need some for my morning toast

No, they were from the 1950s.

There was a lot of attention to the following in the news at the time.

I don't know if it had anything to do with it, maybe just a topical name at the time.

The bag was about the size of a packet of crisps and had sweets and so item in it. Sold at the local "corner shop" amongst all the sweets, crisps.

I remember having one where the item was a piece of card with a small compass on it, about the size of a finger nail like a small model of a saucepan without a handle or lid and a transparent lid window on top and a small magnetic piece that always pointed north inside, presumably on some vertical pin.

I remember that such shops used to have large display cards each with lots of one item on them, often in assorted colours, held on by elastic threads, so pencils on one card, pencil sharpeners on another, pens on another, erasers on another.
