Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

AGAA4 Thu 18-Nov-21 17:02:49

Not any more. I feel that I can't see as well in the dark now and it's not safe.

Have you ever suffered road rage from another driver?

ginny Thu 18-Nov-21 16:48:00

We don’t seem to get any at the front but we get everyone else’s share at the back. So , yes we do sweep them up.

Do you feel confident driving in the dark ?

biglouis Thu 18-Nov-21 16:35:59

I enjoy the days leading upto Christmas because I can look forward to closing all my online shops and relaxing for a bit. Ive already composed the "out of office" message.

Do you sweep the leaves from your paths as the poster above does?

I just leave them be. Falling leaves are something that happens in autumn and its like trying to hold back the tide.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 18-Nov-21 15:54:56

It's trivial amongst the grand scheme of things but I wish the other neighbours would help with maintaining the shared driveway at the front. Myself and one other are the only ones to pick up litter/sweep up the dead leaves and at this time of year there's a considerable amount. I'm not going to fall out with them about it though.

Do you enjoy autumn - the shortening days, run up to Christmas, etc? I find it a little depressing sometimes.

AGAA4 Thu 18-Nov-21 14:52:04

I am definitely the oldest member of my family now.

What is the most annoying thing that neighbours do?

BBbevan Thu 18-Nov-21 13:42:43

Running?

Are you now the oldest in your family. Or is there someone above you? I have two aunts, one late 80s the other 96 .

Mollygo Thu 18-Nov-21 13:22:58

A garden with leafless trees, starlings on the bird-feeder and in the distance, I can usually see the University, but today it’s wrapped in mist.

They’ve changed our bin day saying they can now get round faster. How do you think they can do that?

DanniRae Thu 18-Nov-21 12:16:23

Question:

What view have you got from the window of the room you are sitting in?

DanniRae Thu 18-Nov-21 12:13:16

Loyalty
Kindness
Sense of humour

AGAA4 Thu 18-Nov-21 11:06:02

Yes but I haven't been to one for a long time.

What are 3 qualities you find attractive in others?

NotAGran55 Thu 18-Nov-21 07:09:12

Gonzalez - Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet
Happy memories of nights out at The Music Machine

Are you a live music fan?

FannyCornforth Thu 18-Nov-21 05:09:48

Definitely not city. Somewhere quiet and beautiful, so a cottage at the foot of a mountain, with a stream, and some goats!

Which song always makes you want to dance?

nanna8 Thu 18-Nov-21 04:39:23

Question- Would you choose a beach, mountains or a big city for a short holiday ?

nanna8 Thu 18-Nov-21 04:38:04

Not yet, not been here that long. I left another site, though, because it got nasty. This has a long way to go to get like that.

Lauren59 Thu 18-Nov-21 03:56:40

I am reading a book called Living Well and Spending Less. Page 45….

“Likewise, another person’s wealth doesn’t make our lives any less valuable.”

Very true!

Do you ever think it’s time to leave GN?

hollysteers Thu 18-Nov-21 01:50:36

Sorry no, I don’t swim, but maybe the old fashioned rubber caps do?

Pick up the nearest book to you and go to page 45. The first complete sentence relates to your life.
“Didn’t the police interfere or something?”

Mollygo Wed 17-Nov-21 22:42:53

No I don’t wash my hair every day except in swimming days. Ive never found a swim cap that stops all my hair getting wet.
Usually I wash it every other day, unless I’m going out somewhere special.

Anyone here found a way or a cap that works to keep hair dry when swimming backstroke or crawl?

NotAGran55 Wed 17-Nov-21 22:15:39

Yes I do, along with makeup and perfume, even when I stay in.

Do you wash and style your hair every day ? I do.

crazyH Wed 17-Nov-21 21:30:04

Thanks Juliet - I was googling ‘gaur’ and couldn’t find it
Anyway, yes I do fall asleep on the armchair, mid afternoon and get the most awful creek in my neck after that.

Do you always use perfume/deodorant when you go out ?

Juliet27 Wed 17-Nov-21 21:20:18

Ambulances certainly frighten me as they turn the siren on right next to me.

Gaur by the way is an Indian Bison I just read….that would certainly be frightening standing on end!

Do you often fall asleep mid afternoon?

crazyH Wed 17-Nov-21 21:15:19

Mollygo ? fat finger syndrome / took me 5 minutes to type this / I’m growing my nails for Xmas so typing makes it even more difficult on this tiny phone

Mollygo Wed 17-Nov-21 20:57:49

crazyH

Makes my ‘hair’ stand on end ?

Ok so at the end of a day I can’t spell. I wonder if gaur is a word.

Same question but with hair!

crazyH Wed 17-Nov-21 18:12:34

Makes my ‘hair’ stand on end ?

Mollygo Wed 17-Nov-21 17:19:48

Yes
Sorry, Game of Life, Othello, draughts, Chinese chequers and then, card games like cribbage.

There was a motorway accident near us today. Does the sound of ambulances and emergency vehicles make your gaur stand on end?

ginny Wed 17-Nov-21 16:00:42

Yes we will be at ours. All visitors will be contributing in some way and everyone mucks in with cooking and clearing up.

As a family we enjoy playing all sorts of board games. Do you ?
