Yes because I run a business and experience has taught me to keep hard copy records in case i lose internet access. Then at least I know who has bought what and I can do my packing.

This only happens when Im alone.

Gosh yes, but I can't recall what it was - I don't think it took hours but it certainly felt like it - just one wrong key pressed and it causes havoc. Wish I was 'tech savvy' but I'm not.

Do you print things out regularly?

I dont really notice it as I have no kids at home and the children around here dont do trick-a-treating.

Have you ever had something happen on the computer or phone and it took you hours to sort out?

I had a bl***y Google account alert on email because the VPNS was on (my fault) and it took me over an hour to sort out.

Yes, with DGC although not mad on them.

Do you enjoy Halloween and all that goes with it?

Always is probably stretching it a bit, but if I know it will irritate the rude person, then definitely. Otherwise a bit of indifference serves the purpose.

I’ve been invited to a bonfire party with my DGC. Would you go if you’d been invited?

Only my disappearing act if I have had enough. Saying a discreet goodbye to the hostess of course.

Are you always polite to people who have been rude to you?

I rarely drink so don't get hungover but unless I'm very ill I refuse to stay in my dressing gown all day as I just wouldn't feel right.

A few of us ladies (4) had a curry last night accompanied by lots of wine. Today, its a hangover and dressing-gown day. Do you have days like this ?

We are nearly always up by eight. As we live in a rural area we have to drive a few miles to get the Sunday papers. Then it is no work around the house or garden. Today we have the stove lit, it is lovely.

Do you go on GN at regular times, or when you have a moment?

I only had (French) pen friends when I was in school so no!

Do you use sunday as a chill out day to stay in bed?

I didnt get up til 10 am today but thats very late for me.

I google main details of plants and can usually find the correct identification. I do the same with birds.

Have you ever rediscovered a long lost pen friend?

I found mine from childhood. She now lives in LA and is married to a relative of Bill Clinton. I didn’t have much of interest to offer in comparison!!

Ive been in a choir several times as I enjoy singing. Not at present - mobility issues - and my voice is past its best.

I used to love rummaging around the local ones but I am no longer mobile enough to visit the ones that have re started.

Yes definitely. Our local police station gives rape alarms to women, to hold in their pockets if they have to walk alone once darkness falls (or if they feel at risk anytime).

Are you concerned about violence to women. I worry about my 16 year old DG

Never. Not interested in any sort of gambling, apart from buying the odd scratch card. I love horses too and can’t watch the Grand National which takes place not far from me.

Do you need a frequent change of scene?
(I do, love trips and got fed up with the same old same old through pandemic)

I just want to 'keep on keeping on' if you see what I mean. Not quite bucket list material but I fantasise about winning a large sum of money and getting the house of my dreams.

No counselling but I suffered panic attacks in my early 20's and read a book called "self help for your nerves " dr claire weekes. .yes it works!

I talk to myself. Telling myself to calm down, do some deep breathing etc. Sometimes it works. And, yes, walking is good.

Have you ever had counselling for stress, or depression, or marriage break up etc.? Did it help?

Not often. I try to enjoy each day as we can't know know what the future holds.

I think dreams can be revealing. I dream about my late husband and mother a lot, people who have meant a lot to me and are missed. Other times, I think our dreams are as if the filing cabinet of our brain has exploded and it’s all nonsense!

Do you think there are any compensations in getting older?
(I’m calmer and not so stressed)

I didnt start anything new in lockdown, just carried on more or less normal as I go out little and have few visitors.

Do you believe that dreams have real meanings about our subconscious desires or that we just wish it was so?

Yes we do. My DD who lives near the top of a mountain not far from us has the most appalling phone and broadband reception.If it is cloudy and damp forget it.

If you started new things in lockdown, like daily walks, do you still do them?

Yes. I start buying in September usually. But even before that if I see something suitable for someone. I like to spread the cost.
