Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

AGAA4 Fri 10-Dec-21 08:09:34

I was staying with my grandma and she took me to see a thriller. I was only 7 so shouldn't have been admitted I think. In the film someone was brutally stabbed. I had nightmares for weeks afterwards.

Do you like Christmas films?

hollysteers Thu 09-Dec-21 23:38:46

Cancer twice, emergency bowel surgery for adhesions 18months after hystericalectomy ?

Which film freaked you out as a kid?
(Whatever happened to Baby Jane)

BBbevan Thu 09-Dec-21 17:09:04

I have nine, from large to small. My favourite which I use for making soup is one of a set of three we were given as a wedding present in 1965.

Have you ever been really ill ?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 09-Dec-21 16:22:36

I try to wait for the big day but ... I've got an Advent calendar so it's a sneaky little piece of chocolate each day. Too much self-indulgence during lock-down has meant I'm carrying a few extra pounds anyway.

I think we've forgotten the question about roasted carrots from henetha yes, I've roasted them before and they were nice but I've gone off them for some reason.

How many saucepans do you have? Is there a favourite one which you use every day?

AGAA4 Thu 09-Dec-21 13:10:00

Salmon with new potatoes is my favourite.

Do you have a run up to Christmas with extra treats or wait for the big day.

Mollygo Thu 09-Dec-21 11:39:38

We like turkey, so we have a turkey crown, plus a joint-usually beef for those who don’t like turkey if we are feeding the family as well. Thank heavens for 4min Yorkshire puddings.

Do you prefer salmon with noodles, (my favourite with teriyaki and ginger dressing) rice or potatoes?

Ali08 Thu 09-Dec-21 11:31:46

We haven't fully decided on putting up a tree. We're in a very small house, with the addition of our granddaughters cat (him indoors said we'd look after him for an unknown time), I don't think he's ever bothered with trees but it would be just my luck.
I'm thinking tree, tho, or I'd miss the lights and the special ornaments I've collected of been given. Had one here last year, but had less furniture then, too. Oh what a quandary!!

Do you prefer to have turkey for Christmas lunch, or something else?

FannyCornforth Thu 09-Dec-21 08:07:59

Oh! Question! I’m out of practice.
Tell me about your tree please! ?
We put our up yesterday, it was quite an ordeal envy

FannyCornforth Thu 09-Dec-21 08:06:47

I used to love being alone; but apart from DH, I’ve been pretty much alone for two years now sad

Billybob4491 Thu 09-Dec-21 08:06:11

Never happier than when I am with friends/family.

Will you change your Christmas plans at all?

AGAA4 Thu 09-Dec-21 07:58:11

I worked on my own mostly which I enjoyed. When I did work with others I got on well with them but I wouldn't just go along with things I didn't agree with.

Do you enjoy being alone or do you need other people to be happy.

biglouis Thu 09-Dec-21 01:03:29

Mine would be "A different drummer" from the lines by Henry David Thoreau:-

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away."

I never felt obliged to fit in.

How about you? Would you (or did you) describe yourself as a team player in work?

hollysteers Thu 09-Dec-21 00:39:44

Plums. As a toddler, I ate a whole bag of plums and made myself ill.

What title would you choose for a book of your life?
(Mine is ‘Vissi d’arte, vissi d’amore’, (I have lived for art and love from the opera Tosca).

BBbevan Wed 08-Dec-21 20:31:29

Louise who?

What is your favourite fruit?.
Mine is a fig.

DanniRae Wed 08-Dec-21 16:41:17

PS Please don't post that you can't stand the programme and don't care who wins ........ because that's not what I asked for!!

DanniRae Wed 08-Dec-21 16:39:06

I would stock up on Dove shower products. I have run out and the shower gel I am using is making me itchy!

If you are watching "I'm a Celebrity ............" who do you want to win. I want Louise to win tchsmile

Shinamae Wed 08-Dec-21 10:44:59

To answer Tillytrotter… I absolutely love a good storm and always have done

If you had £10 right now to go into boots what would you buy?

henetha Wed 08-Dec-21 10:22:22

Nothing exciting really. But I was so pleased that one of my sons and his partner visited me. They had been away for a while and I misssed them. And, as a bonus, they unpacked my new sideboard which I had found impossible to do.

Do you ever roast carrots? I tried it and they are nice.

AGAA4 Wed 08-Dec-21 08:26:43

I think my dressing gown is the oldest bought by my DD when she was a student 15 years ago. It is still warm and cosy and treasured as I know she had very little money then.

What is the best thing that has happened to you this week?

TillyTrotter Wed 08-Dec-21 08:23:56

Does this count? I had a dressing gown I had worn for 18 years, mornings and most evenings and only replaced it last year?

Are you scared by thunder and lightning or do you enjoy watching the storms?

Billybob4491 Wed 08-Dec-21 07:43:13

I dont like anyone singing Christmas songs apart from Boney M.

What is the oldest item of clothing in your wardrobe? I have just donated a mac to the Charity Shop bought when I was pregnant, that child is now 48!

Shinamae Tue 07-Dec-21 23:22:09

Only on the TV, many years ago

Do you like Johnny Mathis singing Christmas songs? We had an LP of that when I was a child and I really did like it

Mollygo Tue 07-Dec-21 16:33:01

Yes I love sprouts. I like them on Christmas Day and other days and we love any left over halved and fried.

My friend has bought tickets for Fascinating Aida as a Christmas gift. (I know because she asked if I’d be free) Have you ever seen them?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 07-Dec-21 16:05:49

I'm not a veggie but I eat very little meat - I prefer salmon for Christmas lunch as it's lighter.

My little brain is running out of questions (and I may be repeating myself) but the big one - do you like Brussels sprouts?

EkwaNimitee Tue 07-Dec-21 14:29:05

Yes, I'd be keeping an eye on them!

If an omnivore, does it have to be turkey for Christmas lunch, if a vegetarian , does it have to be nut roast?
