Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

Mollygo Tue 07-Sept-21 20:05:16

An American style fridge-freezer. Gave it to DD because I had no room for it.

I need a new rug for the living room. The last one was from Dunelm.
Anyone got a recommendation for another good place to look?

DiscoGran Tue 07-Sept-21 19:44:33

Not a cut, but a terrible tight perm on my long hair, which I then had straightened and a few weeks later had to get cut really short. How I cried.

Have you ever won a great prize in a competition?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 07-Sept-21 19:33:00

I think I have but it was a long time ago - with toilet roll middles, and I wouldn't do so now.

Have you ever had a really disastrous and embarrassing haircut?

henetha Tue 07-Sept-21 11:39:25

Gas central heating. And an electric fire in the living room for the odd chilly evening.

Have you ever made your own Christmas crackers?

nanna8 Tue 07-Sept-21 00:16:26

I’ve had mine, our Seasons are ‘upside down’. Also a new pneumonia jab they offered at the same time.

How do you heat your house? Gas, electric or wood or a combination?

biglouis Mon 06-Sept-21 21:11:00

Been out with a DSS fraud investigator. He was a horrible man - delighted in catching people out so he could proescute them.

Are you planning a flu jab this autumn?

My surgery just offered me one.

BBbevan Mon 06-Sept-21 18:56:34

No, I look like the living dead in black. Navy for me.

Did you ever go out with anyone with an unusual occupation?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 06-Sept-21 13:47:27

Very mundane, I'm getting my gutters cleaned - how unexciting is that?

Have you ever possessed a 'little black dress'?

BBbevan Mon 06-Sept-21 12:42:48

Hated driving.Gave it up a few years ago.

Anything new planned for this week ?

biglouis Mon 06-Sept-21 11:43:26

That sounds like a "how long is a piece of string" question. It depends on how mobile and how patient you are! A puppy is a responsibility and it takes me all my time to look after myself.

Do you enjoy driving or is it just a means to get from A to B?

I never learned.

Mollygo Mon 06-Sept-21 11:09:51

Yes, done. There must be someone there to hand out the ‘your message has been deleted’ posts.

How old is too old to get a puppy?

FannyCornforth Mon 06-Sept-21 10:17:59

I’ve put up some feeders for the first time this year. I was always a bit hesitant to do so because I’ve got a cat, but she isn’t a hunter, bless her.
The birds aren’t interested at all

Will you be sending an email to HQ, today being the GN day of Direct Action?

henetha Mon 06-Sept-21 10:06:23

Yes, absolutely. I joined a library when I was six years old and have been using them ever since. I can't imagine how I would cope without my library books, although I have quite taken to my Kindle these days and now use both.

Do you feed the birds in your garden? Some experts are now saying that this might not be good for them, strangely.

travelsafar Mon 06-Sept-21 09:13:39

I love them. I listen to them whilst working in the kitchen or garden. Borrow them from the library that i belong to.

Do you use your local library?

NotAGran55 Mon 06-Sept-21 09:02:46

I would lift my house up , along with the garden and woods behind, and plonk it in London. I fancy a bit of city living.

Do you enjoy audiobooks? I do , and I’m just looking for a new one now …

biglouis Sun 05-Sept-21 22:28:24

Never an entire meal although I have left things in the over too long or burned the bottom of a pan! Usually its possible to salvage something.

If you could make one major improvement to your home in the next year what would it be?

I would like a conservatory.

AGAA4 Sun 05-Sept-21 16:46:22

Yes. I am off to the Peak District tomorrow and the weather looks good.
Have you ever ruined a whole meal?

Kim19 Sun 05-Sept-21 16:43:15

Not. Gardening makes it a definite no no. Would be clear gloss if I ever indulged. Any trips planned? I'm off to London shortly and hope to fit in some shows.

BBbevan Sun 05-Sept-21 16:29:39

No, it used to be dark but I went grey about 50 ish. Now silver !

Nails painted, what colour or not?

biglouis Sun 05-Sept-21 16:25:00

I feel ambivalent about both! I went on a cruise once and hated it. Too cliquish. The advantage of flying is that you get there quickly. However you are sitting too closely with people you dont know (and probably dont want to know) and you get treated like cattle at airports. I am done with international travel now.

Do you dye or tint your hair?

I used to dye mine auburn to enhance the colour but its grey now and I just leave it as it is.

DanniRae Sun 05-Sept-21 15:22:57

I hope you are not driving Mollygo! - I don't have a favourite motorway services. The thing I like the most when on a motorway is seeing the sign to our exit because I dislike motorways intensely!! (And that's as a passenger)

Would you rather travel somewhere by plane or boat?

Mollygo Sun 05-Sept-21 12:37:21

Yes, in a choir, and also played my flute. It’s quite exciting really and gives a great feeling of being part of something that gives pleasure to others.

I’m currently on the motorway. Do you have a favourite motorway services?

henetha Sun 05-Sept-21 11:23:15

I don't think so, not that I can recall. But I did lose a credit card once, or thought I did. I was frantic, - until I eventually found it in a place where I never keep such things, for some daft reason.

Have you ever sung in public?

crazyH Sun 05-Sept-21 01:42:57

No, thank heaven, I never had to call an ambulance and I hope I never have to.

I’m an insomniac at the best of times, but tonight it’s worse, because I lost M&S gift vouchers worth £70. I went into M&S earlier with the sole purpose of spending them. Left them on the shelf while I tried on a pair of shoes and by the time I turned, the envelope with the vouchers had gone. (I rarely carry a handbag) Have you ever lost money through sheer carelessness ?

biglouis Sun 05-Sept-21 01:13:37

No, I am not a sporty/hiking type!

Have you ever had to call an ambulance?

I had to call one 4 years ago when a relative had a stroke. Thankfully he has made a good recovery although still has some residual effects.
